Morning peeps.

Back from vacation, now sitting at my desk at work reeeeeeeeeeeally wishing I weren't here.

My trip was great! I enjoyed the cruise more than I expected, my friend and I laughed pretty much the entire trip, and I never got sea sick (she did, however.) Plus we got in a day at Disney World (3 parks, in 13 hours!) and we were able to change our flight home, to a direct flight that got us home 8 HOURS earlier than we'd booked.

so what'd I miss in the last 10 days?

Man, I wanna sleep for 9.5 hours too! Sign me up for that club, please.

Welcome back Maureen!

Missybabe - you know we need pics or video of Ali's eating adventures with new foods, right? :)

Fun (sorta) After my 5k yesterday in 43 degree temps with TOG wind (and my being dressed like it was going to be 58 with no wind, like the weatherman said) I now have a ridiculously deep sounding voice. Like - deep enough to be employed by a 1-900 company!

Not fun: I had a bit of a stupid-scare this am. At my usual time, i went to grab my keys from their normal place to warm up the car. No keys. I checked backup spots 2 and 3. No keys. Huh?! I knew I had to have them to get IN the house yesterday after the race, but i could not find them. Looked EVERYWHERE that they could have fallen or been moved to, with other things going on that evening (preparing supper, laundry, etc). I even stripped off the bedsheets in case I'd tossed the keys on the bed when I came home. No dice. Went through the dog kennel bedding in case I'd laid the keys on top and they fell in. Nada. At one point, I was starting to freak myself out that (being so freaking cold from the race) that I might have been in such a hurry to get inside, that I might have left the keys IN the front door. Of course, they weren't there. Freaking me out even more was the fact that the back door had the dead bolt locked, but the second locking mechanism wasn't locked. Eh?!?!

After probably 40 minutes of searching, including crawling on the floor with a flashlight to look under furniture of various sorts, I retraced the simplest of steps and found my keys - in the little tin that I use to keep my running earphones, mp3 player, shot blocks, chapstick, etc. Apparently in my need for warmth yesterday, I wasn't thinking and just put things up as quickly as possible.

Ugh. Being late to work for that was embarrassing. I've NEVER misplaced my keys like that as an adult. I don't plan to do so again!

Yeah for AK and sleep!! And welcome back Moe - glad you had a great trip.

Now I want lasagna for lunch...

Not fun - 4 inches of rain and additional water from snow melt means flooding around here, and lots of it. Schools closed. I am working form home today anyway (needed to get my 7 YO onto and off of the bus and extra curriculars), so it does not affect me, but he is bored out of his mind.

Fun - someone should be taping Jeopardy right about now...

G'morning all - I meant to post it in this thread, but I'll do a Cliff's Notes version. Figured out why my molasses nut bread had such a strong taste to it - used the blackstrap version rather than the more refined versions. Didn't know there was such a difference before, but now I do

Maureen! Welcome back - glad to hear the vacay went well.

Hope your DS' Jeopardy stint goes well, Litch

Ailarie - I've had little misplacing incidents like that; usually happens though when I detach my house keys from the rest of my key chain (when I go running from home, for instance - don't need to be lugging the car keys around)

Glad AK is finally hitting the snooze button for you, Missy

Yesterday's beer tasting and dinner was fun. Today, not much fun so far, but I did make plans with my sorority sister and her husband for April. Fun to look forward to is almost as good as having fun right now.

I had a morning scare too but it was of a maybe-there's-someone-in-my-house kind. When I need to get up (without snoozing) in the morning, I sleep on my couch in the living room and set my alarm in my bedroom. I was having a dream that I was a war-zone survivor and people told me that I had been sexually assaulted (though the only evidence was cuts on my leg) and Bill and Hillary Clinton were visiting with us while we waited to take showers in a locker room. Right when I was trying to explain to them that people told me that I had been assaulted but I didn't think they were right, I was jolted awake by what sounded like a door scraping the floor as it's being closed. I freaked out! It was 4:20 in the morning and dark. I must had stayed still and alert for 20 minutes trying to listen for an intruder. Finally I fell back asleep. This morning, I checked all the doors and they were all locked, so I don't know what woke me up. The door sound was NOT part of the dream.

I really hate what my anti-depressants have been doing to my sleep.

In more fun news, I turned in my review packet, so whatever happens next is out of my hands.

OMG - she is soooooooo cute - that smile rocks!!

In the not fun category, apparently the rain last night, combined with the harsh weather of the winter (freeze\thaw etc) has washed out my front walkway. I guess I have a new spring project to plan.

Cute pics!

I just came into the Memphis airport. I was THE ONLY person going thru security at the time. Yet I counted 21 TSA agents in the area. A couple of them had to briefly interrupt their goofing off to deal with me, but basically they're all just standing around bullshitting. Ladies and gentlemen, your federal tax dollars at work!
