Fun (sorta) After my 5k yesterday in 43 degree temps with TOG wind (and my being dressed like it was going to be 58 with no wind, like the weatherman said) I now have a ridiculously deep sounding voice. Like - deep enough to be employed by a 1-900 company!

Not fun: I had a bit of a stupid-scare this am. At my usual time, i went to grab my keys from their normal place to warm up the car. No keys. I checked backup spots 2 and 3. No keys. Huh?! I knew I had to have them to get IN the house yesterday after the race, but i could not find them. Looked EVERYWHERE that they could have fallen or been moved to, with other things going on that evening (preparing supper, laundry, etc). I even stripped off the bedsheets in case I'd tossed the keys on the bed when I came home. No dice. Went through the dog kennel bedding in case I'd laid the keys on top and they fell in. Nada. At one point, I was starting to freak myself out that (being so freaking cold from the race) that I might have been in such a hurry to get inside, that I might have left the keys IN the front door. Of course, they weren't there. Freaking me out even more was the fact that the back door had the dead bolt locked, but the second locking mechanism wasn't locked. Eh?!?!

After probably 40 minutes of searching, including crawling on the floor with a flashlight to look under furniture of various sorts, I retraced the simplest of steps and found my keys - in the little tin that I use to keep my running earphones, mp3 player, shot blocks, chapstick, etc. Apparently in my need for warmth yesterday, I wasn't thinking and just put things up as quickly as possible.

Ugh. Being late to work for that was embarrassing. I've NEVER misplaced my keys like that as an adult. I don't plan to do so again!
