Good morning, folks. Well, I ended my 30s on a good note yesterday, and got my 40s off to a good start today. It was another small race. (Both of these are inaugural events, which I'm sure helped keep the crowds down). My time today was 21:55, which is 30 seconds slower than yesterday, on a much easier course. But that's to be expected. I'm pleased with the consistency today. My three mile splits were 7:01, 6:59 and 6:59.

Whereas the winner yesterday was over 20 minutes, the winner today was around 17 minutes, I think. But my time was still good enough for 15th place overall. And, amazingly, it was good enough for 2nd in M40-44. And, the first place guy in this AG was second overall, which means I was given the medal for 1st in the AG. And I actually would've been third had I still been M35-39. So for once. the 30s was more competitive than the 40s. Luckily that happened on my first race in my 40s.

The 14 people that finished ahead of me were all over the map, age-wise, from teenagers to 55+. But no women again. Before yesterday, I don't think I had ever finished ahead of the female winner, but now it's happened twice in a row. I guess all the fast ladies stayed home this weekend.

Well, now I want a nap...
