I did 10 mins with the arm bike and 15 mins on the rower. That's all I had time for this morning. But I did a really tough upper body workout yesterday, so hopefully all together it's good.

Susan, I admire your cross-training determination, when I can't run I'm too inclined to kick back and regress.

Pro, you put on a heck of a performance Saturday. Stay strong.

Hippo, a 100K PR, fun or not, is good for more than a shrug. Come on.

Tamster, my belief is that there can never be enough apple pie in the world. Would you mind posting both recipes? Pleeeease?

Speaking of rest days, I slept an extra hour. I hate starting the day behind schedule, but I went running anyway.

I'm supposed to bike for an hour today, but have to take Hamish to the vet to be "tutored." That's two hours of driving sucked right out of my day there.

Poor slob was so very happy to go for a ride in the car this morning...

We'll see how time commitments pile up tonight at the other end of things. I'm tired, tired, tired, from all the running the past few weeks, and maybe a day off wouldn't go amiss.

Hippo.. 100K! and more to come wow!
Susan, the cross training is money in the bank for when you start running again!

Lots of resting going on today. After yesterday's 22, even my arms are too sore to swim. Nothng serious, just some soreness like... everywhere except my feet. So 2 slow, get the blood flowing miles with Tory this am.

(oops, I'm sorry, you said Regress Day. My bad...)

I'll be running 3 slow miles later today, so hopefully it's not a regress day for me.

Good morning! Thanks for the warm welcome. 4.5 slow, easy paced miles for me today, along with some lower body weight work. I'm never quite sure if I should do the weight work when tapering. I'm always afraid I'll lose too much conditioning if I don't. Maybe next week I'll back off.
'Hoping for great runs for everyone today!

First of all MS, what are you getting your dog tutored in? How to be happy to roll around in the grass and get belly rubs?

I have to catch up on what I missed this weekend around here. After work I will run and do weights.

Good morning everyone. (Well, it may be past noon for some of you but it's still morning here).

I'm catching up on all the weekend stuff, so forgive me for what I've missed.

Welcome Gin! And Orangeshorts, I haven't seen you over here, but am glad you're joining our mature little party.

Riley, it sounds like you're making progress with the upper-body cross training.

JJJ, don't sprain a thumb with all that twiddling. Nice resting, by the way.

Sally, I thought maybe you were making a joke about your dog being "neutered" not "tutored". Anyway, I know what a bite out of the day 2 hours is, no pun intended (well, maybe just a little).

This is a "rest" day for me. I'll not actually be resting, as I'm in a bit of a panic because my daughters turn 9 on Wednesday, and I just haven't got my act together. I have birthday shopping to do!...so little time.

Have a great day, everyone.

Hey everyone!! I'm back from my vacation. I put on my Garmin the first day at Disneyland, walking around two amusement parks and Downtown Disney and back and forth to the hotel a couple of times I logged in more than 7 miles for the one day!! I was kind of suprised, we were there for 7 days so did a lot of walking.
I did manage to get in a couple of early morning 3 miles (or so) jogs around the city streets surrounding the resort, too. Had a lot of fun, kind of depressing getting back to work this morning!

NIce to see you here OS!

I dropped my son off at school, then got in a run of 6.75 miles. About 15 min after I got home, the rain started - supposed to be nonstop rain from here on out all week. Darn, I was really hoping to run in the rain. I know how Millbot likes stuff like that. Mill, I'll pull out my recipes for both pies and post them . . . probably tomorrow.

I tried out my new running skirt today. very very comfy. The compression shorts do ride up a bit, but the sales lady told me that so I wasn't disappointed. I bought them knowing that. But I honestly don't even notice it and it's not uncomfortable. I think this one is even more comfortable than my Triks skirt.

Nice run Tamalina. Gear check sounds good too.
Didn't you say Johnny was going to pace you? If so, I'd get him to carry a camera and take us some redwood photos. I'm a fool for trees.
And of course pictures of that new skirt.
Have a hearty taper.
Welcome back, Ken. One thing I remember from my childhood trip to Disneyland is sore feet. Now I know why.

Tamster, thanks in advance for the recipes. I don't know which is better, apple pie or running in the rain. Maybe running in the rain followed by an apple pie recovery.

Edited to add a note to SS:

SS, here's one vote for a weekly thread! Hey, today's the start of a new week*. Serendipity!

* Some people like to call Sunday the first day of the week. But then why is it part of the weekend?

JJJ, you have the most interesting Sundays. 18 *and* biking? Whew!
Great job, weekend racers. Ilene, where are you????
Ken, AFA I'm concerned, work is depressing. Period. I'm ready for retirement; too bad my savings aren't.
