8 moh this morning. Shoes in front of fan as they are soaked from the humidity. Going to packet pickup at 10:00. Goofing off most of rest of the day. Team dinner/get together tonight.

OM - I read where you emailed garmin. Call them on their service line. They have as good of customer service as I've ever received. They'll probably fix your watch for you.

I'll probably do a couple mile jog after work tonight to see what my legs have to say.

KS, thanks for the heads' up on calling Garmin. Just got off the phone with them and they're sending me a new one, only $79. So I'm off to the post office with the old one!

Good racing, good running and good goosing to all!

OM, glad to hear they took care of the garmin issue for you. I've always heard they had excellent customer service. I bought my 305 about 2 yrs ago and except for not being able to hear the "beep" on it any longer (it's real faint. i can hear it if I put my watch up to my ear but that just looks silly), I haven't had an issue. the beeping sound actually became real faint about a 9 mos into having it. not sure why. and it's something I didn't even care about really. although now that I run interval workouts at times, it would be nice to be able to hear it again rather than always having to glance at my watch when running repeats to make sure I'm on target.

I think spring has sprung here. Should be close to 80 today and pretty nice thru the wknd and even into next week it's still looking nice - low 70's. that's the temps I like the best. DH likes 90's though. Will finish getting my garden planted this weekend. and then there's that 22 miler to fit in also.

5.3 miles in the woods with 3 x 4-5 minutes of rather spritely running (fartleks, I believe) thrown in. By far the best run of the past week, but I still need a whole bunch of improvement....it'll come eventually.

good news on the Gamin OM.

Geese tremble at the approach of tomwhite.....but be careful, I was attacked by one of them Canuck Bull Geese a few years back.

Good luck at the race Ks.............good luck on the 22 miler Tamster, I'll be thinkin of ya. (oh yeah, not hearin the Garmin beep is probably caused by old age hearing loss...welcome to the club)......backing away very slowly

Happy Friday indeed! It's payday here, too, so that's even better.

I think Opie's defection to RA is complete. Don't know where Gobi's been. Thought of JJJ recently, too. Funny how 'Ribs called him Trips.

Tammy, I'll be working in the yard/garden this weekend too. My last long training run in quite some time will be on Sunday. I like thinking of it that way. Sometimes, if I'm struggling with the end of the run, I think of that and somehow it makes it better. I love running marathons, but I get tired of training for them. My ideal situation would be to run a marathon every 2-4 weeks. Then I'd never need to do another 20 miler. Yes, I'm lazy in an odd way.

Glad to hear the world isn't coming to an end anytime soon. I've got so much to do here still...

Hi KS, Tamster, HappyFeat, Johnny and OM!

TW..... no point doing the Pepe Le Pew thing. That's a Parisienne French accent, not French-Canadian. No wonder they didn't understand!

2.7 easy miles to shake out the legs before work this morning. Mostly OK, but right glute and hamstring still feel wonky. Will get a better idea with tomorrow's race.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Hi everybody and thanks for the shout-out Johnny.

3 miles of easy running tonight to see how my legs feel - fine they say, except for this and that - followed by an hour of yoga. I finally looked again at the elevation chart for this race and got my eyes beyond the third mile all uphill part to notice the rest of it is pretty much of a downhill slide. No wonder I had such unbelievable splits last year. Makes me feel better about my chances to do as well this year.

Best of luck tomorrow, Heme!

4.7 easy miles at lunchtime (really! I kept it just under 8:40), .5 mile walk back to the office, then 2.5 miles on the elliptical and about 21 minutes weights after work. Focusing on chest/back/arms/abs these days since the legs are getting plenty of workout on the hills and elliptical.

Had our first wildfire today, just about 10-12 miles from home. That's getting a little close... It's been so dry here, and apparently a tree went down on a power line today, sparking the fire.
