<p>I am so freakin' glad it's Friday! It hasn't been a bad week or anything, just am looking forward to a break. I don't get to sleep in tomorrow as I would like, I am headed up toward Cleveland to volunteer at <strong>Roots'</strong> aid station for the <a href="http://burningriver100.org/" target="_blank">Burning River 100</a>. I first did it 2 years ago, taking over the spot that <strong>Voodoo</strong> had originally intended to fill. I've been volunteering with Roots when my schedule allows ever since. I didn't make it to last year's Burning River 100, but I did volunteer twice for his <a href="http://www.fools50k.blogspot.com/" target="_blank">Fools 50K</a>. I'm looking forward to seeing him and <strong>SisterGoldenHair</strong> again.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>FUN: I'm leaving work at 2:30 today.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>NOT FUN: so I can head to the BMV to renew my driver's license and car registration ahead of my birthday next week. Actually, the BMV usually isn't too bad for me and the office I go to seems to be pretty quick. </p>
<p> </p>
<p><strong>QOD- Do you like your driver's license photo?</strong> My current one isn't bad, I hope the next one is OK too. I've been pretty lucky over the years in that respect. I like the photo on my volunteer ID, my work ID isn't bad although my hair color is a bit weird (I'd tried going auburn for a while). </p>

<p><strong>Not fun</strong>: Getting my bill for my upcoming car tag renewal. I've been used to the charge for my almost 12 year old CRV. Add that rate to the new civic's tag... OUCH!.</p>

<p><strong>Ailarie</strong>- are your state registration fees based on the value of your car? Huh. In Ohio, there is a set state fee, and then counties can assess additional fees. So I pay more living where I do than where my parents do, but the age/value of my car has nothing to do with it.</p>

<p>Been a long week here. I have been working from home since Wednesday, because our minivan is in the shop - should be ready today. My kids are all in summer theater programs, but different ones, so I have been getting my 11 YO (well, 12 YO as of yesterday) from Danbury at around 11 every night this week. That is way past my bedtime. Plus, I am on call this week for work, was up from 2-5AM on <span style="text-decoration:line-through;">Wed night</span> Thursday morning. Hoping to catch up on some zzzzs this weekend.</p>

Yep. There is a base fee of $20, and then another Ad-valorem (sp?) fee based on the value of your car. Put it this way.. my total tag for my CRV Is around $75. My tag for the new civic is around $270 (maybe $290.. can't remember for sure.) I knew the price for the civic tag renewal would be higher than the CRV, but I wasn't expecting it to be that much higher.</p>

<p>Well, I didn't get out of the office until closer to 3:30 *grumble*. But I did get in and out of the BMV in about 20 minutes, and that was with waiting my turn to take my photo for the new license and then waiting for it to be made. Can't complain. The new photo is OK. </p>
