Didn't make the gym this morning because of work, but will hopefully make it to the running store later for shoes. Then I'm playing golf tonight. It's a couples league. DH is a scratch golfer, and I can't even par putt putt. Should be interesting!

I'm hoping to get in to Warm Yoga after work at 4:30. That's all I got. Marathon training starts Monday. It's going to suck because I am wayyyyyyyyy out of running shape. Even 5 miles is daunting. I'll be in here frequently looking for inspiration and motivation!!!

Greetings, all.

4m on the Tm last night. I'd planned for 5, but with another round of stormy weather wreaking havoc on things, I had planned on stopping at 4.0. At 3.9, the power went out and my run was abruptly ended when I ran straight into the treadmil console. oofth.

Today is the usual upper body/core stuff. I'll get to that at some point.

Morning all! And thanks for the big ups! Last nights' race was so much fun, well you know for running hills on trails in the warmth & in oxygen debt. It was a great event, very low key esp compared to those NYRR puts on... NYRR races have thousands of people, this series put on by the Van Cortlandt Track Club had less than a 100. It felt good to look around and see everyone starting at the same time, no chip timing, no fancy water stations, just running. One dude ran with his dog! This series continues through the summer every other Thursday evening, same course, for 7 races in total. I'm definitely going back now! 1). I didn't die 2). I need to run it better now knowing what to expect 3). the aforementioned vibe is worth the trek to the Bronx 4). the cost can't be beat ($5!) 5). I now know who the women are in my age group and intend to beat the top 3 next time and earn myself a carrot cake muffin

Today may end up being my rest day for the week, I slept in this morning and may meet up with peeps at the beer garden this evening.

Good luck to the weekend's racers... I know KP will be busting out a sweet HM, anyone else?

Congrats, Maria!

I ran 4 ridiculously hot miles yesterday afternoon and then hit the OWS session. Kept it short, but swam a solid pace. Did somewhere around 3/4 mi.

I'm racing a sprint tri tomorrow. Should be interesting. I haven't gotten any decent time on the bike yet, and I haven't raced a complete tri in two years (because of my calf stuff last summer -- I just did the swim/bike). I'm not hoping for any blazing time for this one -- just getting the feet wet (ha!) with the tri's again.

Good luck to KP and Theia on the HM's!

Nice work Maria!

Good luck KP, Solar and Theia!

DH and I are running the VT City marathon relay on Sun. It's his first and it was a tough training Spring for me, so I'm just hoping to have fun and finish respectably. I'm also predicting DH will catch the bug and want to train for a fall HM - summer training should be better for both of us with our hectic schedules.

Have a great long weekend, all!

No real fitness today (just some strength stuff this am). Yesterday wasn't one of my better days, but about 330 I decided that I would swim, and it did help a bit with the mood. Mostly I am looking forward to enjoying a bit of vaca!!

Good Luck Solar, NCRG, and Theia!!

I want to do this some day (run a race with a dog, I mean). Of course, that would involve me getting a dog first. That might be a while, though. Our neighbor has two dogs, and DD is rather scared of them. So there might not be a dog in the near future for us. I've got a cat, but I don't think she'll be running any races with me...
