Okay, so I have major rant ahead. I mentioned yesterday that I was schedule to give a presentation this morning in Milwaukee. While the organizer REALLY wanted to put it on and did not want to reschedule despite the fact that winter storm #1 started coming through yesterday and there is now a blizzard warning. I thought it was just plain short sighted and a matter of dollar signs in sight rather than thinking of the fact that I was volunteering my time and it was dangerous to be on the roads. Never heard back yesterday at all with the plan and I was up ALL.NIGHT.LONG worrying about it. Got up at 5:00 am to see I received an e-mail at MIDNIGHT saying the presentation was cancelled. Really?!?!?

I am glad it is cancelled. There is an effing blizzard on the way, so it was the right thing to do. But to wait until midnight to let me know. GRRRRRRR. So I am starting out February tired and cranky. Really cranky frankly.

The good news is that I brought a bunch of work home. I plan to work here, nap and run whenever I [email protected] well feel like it, thank you very much. For now I am going to sip coffee and wait for my boys to get up.

Hope winter and duck are feeling better. And glad Shannon's boy is recovering. Take care everyone.

Good morning!

I'm glad they canceled your presentation, RIL. That really does stink that they didn't let you know until midnight! WTF! Hopefully, your mood will lift and you'll get to enjoy a nap or two!

Feel better WInter and Duck!

Glad your little guy is recovering, Shannon!

We have a two hour delay today. Unfortunately, I was up 30 minutes before they called it. Oh well. I'm enjoying my morning of leisure.

Take care everyone!!

Good luck to everyone with the weather. Working from home again. Happy I have a job (and a boss) where this is a possibility.

The storm has started here, but it's not bad yet. The roads were fine on the way to work, but that didn't stop some people from driving about 10 mph on the interstate. So the commute took me almost twice as long as usual, even though I thought there was no problem driving. Oh well...

Winter storm warming is in effect from 6am today until 6pm tomorrow. Sheesh. So it might be interesting trying to get home tonight...

Thanks. Yeah, one reason I posted that pic was becuase I thought it showed our similar eyes. I don't know if she looks like me in any other respect (maybe that's lucky for her), but at least she has my eyes...

My nephew landed in the hospital yesterday. He stopped by my sister's in the morning and started vomiting blood then passed out. Docs think he has an ulcer but they're doing more tests today. I stopped into the hospital last night to see him. He was tired and cranky (they wouldn't let him eat anything). My poor sister got quite a scare, that's for sure.

We're getting snow here but they're still not sure how much. One weather site says lots, another says a bit. I guess we'll see soon enough. Mom's on her way home from Toronto today. I hope she gets here before anything hits, at least.

Morning all

they plowed my road this mornng and it was drifted shut less than a half hour later so I'm going to leave work early run some errands and then head home to snuggle in for the next couple of days. I have to work from home but that's ok, it just means I get to bake cookies and muffins and hang out in my pj's!!

If I could get some hugs for Craig's kidneys I'd appreciate it... just kidding. He ended up in the hospital last night with a kidney stone. He says it's already passed but I think he's still on good drugs.

Wippy - I am doing the same as you, but not going in to work at all today. Still in my jammies, more coffee is brewing, and getting ready to get a little work done.

Morning all! Distant hugs to the sickies and vibes to the injured.

Well, it's snowing here and it looks beautiful, though with 24 or more hours of this, I'll probably get sick of it at some point. I was thinking of going outside at intervals to shovel so that I wouldn't have the whole lot to do when it stopped, but it's coming down so fast that I'll probably get irritated. I guess that means I get to stay in my pajamas all day instead.

Mindi, I'm glad you didn't have to go! It's ridiculous that they expected you to come in the first place, there is no presentation worth life and limb.

No snow day here. But we had another good morning at the House of Goon! DS up and moving without surliness or refusal to go. WOOHOO! DD was up and slightly dreading the day but I really think it's a matter of adjusting to the new schedule. She doesn't deal with change that well, part and parcel of the whole Asperger's gig, but I think once she acclimates she'll be fine. February is off to a good start!!

Another reason I'm glad not to be working right now. Well, you know what I mean. I don't have to go anywhere unless I want to.

Have you guys seen the video of the 7 teenagers beating up the one kid, and end up hanging him up on a tall iron fence post by the back of his coat? WTF is wrong with kids today? WHY would they ever think that was acceptable behavior? I don't care what the provocation was, if any, or about pack mentality. W.T.F?!?!?

Fun: well this part isn't fun. Last night I was knitting swatches of different lace patterns to check gauge and see what I want to use on this next sweater project. Tried out close to 10 laces, and just was NOT satisfied with any of them. The fun part - this morning on the tm BINK!!! I know exactly what I need to change. WOOHOO!!!!.

So now I'm all fired up to start working on that, but I got an email from Lloyd yesterday asking if I can add another 20 mugs onto the total, and have 2 that say Champion on them, I assume for the male/female winners. Yah, I can, but I need to get more of those hammered out.

And I still haven't cleaned my house.

Good morning all. I wish everyone a great February. Get to feeling better all. I feel fine but have had a scratchy throat for several days. Thankfully it's not sore but you've all been there. It constantly feels dry and all that jazz.

Not much to report here this morning, sipping on coff-ay and trying to work. Lil sis #4 is currently stranded in Houston (day 2 now), attempting to get home to St. Louis from a weekend trip to Florida. STL is getting hammered and I doubt she makes it anywhere today but as long as she makes it back by Friday so she can get back on a plane to CA I'll be happy.

Mindi – I’d be majorly pizzzzzed off!
