<p>I had an assignment to find, research and write about a notorious killer.</p>

<p>So, I picked one.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Assignment:  8-9 page paper.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>:embarrassed:</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I got so into it, that I ended up writing 12 pages, exclusive of analysis and maps.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>I kept paring it down, but the dude did kill over 12 years and 53 people.  That's not</p>
<p>a quick "jot a few memories down" kind of paper.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I hope she doesn't think I'm an a$$ kisser or other annoying type.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>Dude was truly fascinating.</p>
<p> </p>
<p> </p>
<p>I did finish my other class a week early with an A.</p>

<p>I had classes that if you went over the limit in pages you were docked points. Is that a factor? It's easy to blow through 10 pages; especially if you're interested in the topic - it's harder to edit down to a limited page amount while still covering the most salient details to get your point across.</p>

<p>Yeah, that's what I was worried about.  I didn't read anything in our syllabus about going over in pages.  :fingerscrossed:</p>

<p>Funny, one of the pieces of advice on writing I read this week: "Don't write anything you don't want to read."  Of course, the corollary wasn't written: "Then don't assign us stuff we aren't interested in."<br>

<p>When I taught - I spec'd the font size and style to prevent students from 'fonting' their page limits. Kind of defeats the purpose of writing a paper in College if you're gonna get there by 'formatting'</p>

<p>I was kidding.  The syllabus specifies font, margins, spacing, etc.  Nowadays it practically specifies what type of printer, paper, and ink.<br>

<p>I Finally got my final paper grade this morning.  It was due the 10th, and I turned it in on the 4th, and didn't get the grade til the 20th.</p>

<p>I'm thinking she just took a few points off, so I wouldn't get a 100.</p>

<p>Who'd you do your paper on?  I also find serial killers fascinating.  My paper would bore you to death, it's on applying learning theory to the online teaching environment.</p>

<p>Funny, but I read about his crimes in three different books and it I didn't bat an eye.  (and he was gruesome)</p>

<p>What almost made me sick was reading about Albert Fish.  (who was coincidentally executed the year Chikatilo was born)<br>
