thanks so much for tracking me!!!!!!!! you guys rock!!!!! I had such a fantastic day!!!!! even with the heat / humidity and trying to stay on top of my nutrition. luckily we had cloud cover, but once I started running I could not cool myself down....or eat! also, mechanical issues on the bike at mile 77ish and spent 20+ on the side of the road. thankfully a IM staff mechanic came to the rescue!!

woohooo!!!!!!! Ironman Texas is in the books!!

thanks again for all your support!!!!!

You ladies f-in rock!!!!!

Woohoo! Couldn't keep track of you ladies, but big time congrats nonetheless Kathleen & Maggie!!

Congrats to both of you!!!

Thanks everyone!!! It was definitely an awesome day. I did better than I expected to in that weather - 5 minutes slower than my IMFL pr on a tougher course. I'll take it!

The Woodlands really was a great place for an ironman. Unfortunately they just didn't pick the best month. We got extremely "lucky" with the weather, but it was still the kind of day where sweat drips down your legs just standing in the shade. They won't be that lucky every time.

The run was awesome - 3 miles of each of the 3 loops was jam packed with people and the other ~5.5 miles of each loop weren't bad at all. Looping through Market Street on each loop was insane - people everywhere screaming their heads off.

The bike was one loop so you got a fair bit away from spectators, but it never did feel that lonely. I think they did a great job for a first-time event.

I know I don't post much, but I was out there too. Had some issues on the swim and the run, which resulted in well over an hour of additional time. However, I crushed the bike with a 5:36 that included two stops during the ride.

overall, it was a great course, only a few small complaints. finished in 12:42. trying to take positives away from this instead of looking at the negatives.

Wow long time no post! 12:42 w/ an hour of slowdowns? Wowzer! A 5:36 bike is GREAT, WTG!
