Ok...since I got stood up on my ride today...I was bored. So...I decided to count the # of intersections I had to slow down for.

30.

30!

Jeebus...that seems like a lot for a flippin' 2 hour ride.

I wonder how much faster I would be if I did it all in a straight shot.

That's why I hate going thru my downtown when I ride north of town. It seems to take forever waiting at stop signs and traffic lights...not to mention the people who are so freaked out at the idea of getting behind a cyclist that they don't give you your turn to go. Those people I shout at (hopefully they won't decide to run me down). And then there's just so much higher a possibility of the unclipping mishap.... which I did right in the university area last summer on my bike...in front of about a zillion college students. Very classy of me. I swear they pointed and laughed!

But I love the rides out that direction, so I have to deal with it. Bleh.

LOL!!! Tomorrow I'm doing a s/b/r. Considering riding from the gym. But, that would mean riding through the center of town... Do I really wanna deal with that? But, I haven't ridden this side of the river for years, and it was one of my favorite routes back in college...

Not only does slowing down kind of suck, intersections are also the most dangerous place for a bike to be! I'm lucky in my little town back in Canada - we only have three stop-lights, so getting out of town in any direction is pretty easy.
