I successfully completed the Indianapolis Marathon this weekend. It was a beautiful day; I got to run with great friends, and even more friends came out to cheer us on. For that, I am thankful.

I ran this marathon because I did not have the opportunity to complete the Chicago marathon, which was my first. Like so many other participants, I heard the race was cancelled when I was at the 20 mile marker. So, I decided to do this local marathon, because I wanted to have something to show for all my hard work this summer.

I won't go into too many details, but I will say that I was slower than molassas. I wish I could have run faster and I wish my time had been better. I was a little surprised at how hard the last 6.2 miles were. I really had no idea. Of course, the memories of physical pain are already begginning to fade, and it looks like other marathons may be on the horizon.
