Congratulations Ronald!

You are one of the lucky triathletes that have been selected as a winner for the February 1, 2008 random drawing for a slot in the Accenture Escape from Alcatraz Triathlon to be held in San Francisco on June 8, 2008.

On June 8th, you will get to jump off a perfectly good boat into the frigid water of the San Francisco Bay, swim with 1800 of your best friends from Alcatraz to Little Marina Green. You will climb out of the water and run (with or without shoes) one half mile to the transition area, jump on your bike and ride 18 miles (most people say that it is all up hill) and then run 8 miles (under the Golden Gate Bridge, through the sands of Baker Beach, up the infamous sand ladder and back to Marina Green to the finish line. What a great way to spend your life.

God Bless,

2. I cannot tell you guys how badly I wanted this. In an INSTANT all my motivation, drive, and desire has just BURST out of me and into the world. I was literally jumping up and down, whopping and hollerin' in this ice-box-server room I am at. I have not been this excited about ANYTHING in a LONG time. This is exactly what I needed. I had actually assumed I wasn't ever gonna get picked, so I had a 1/2 Iron on that date instead.
3. I had JUST last night decided to "let go" of Newfoundland 70.3 this year for many reasons. I was a little bummed, but I understand the WHY and was at peace with it.
4. After I sent my revised 2008 schedule

CC's response:
Excited, huh? That's good... but be afraid. GET AFRAID.
I have done that race.... the water is frigid... the hills are steeper than steep... and the run is very challenging along sand and stairs.
You thought I made you suffer before? This will separate the men from the boys!!!!!
Congrats tho. You'll LOVE this race...!
