for a visit in a few weeks and my friends and i are coordinating days/times we'll get together. sometimes i wish i wouldn't have moved down here. i don't even feel like it's my "home" yet.

i'm wondering if i should move back there. although i haven't really given austin a chance. i guess i'm just home sick. that would be stupid to turn around after only 6 months (3 being confined to my house).

talk me into or out of it, please.

no, the goal hasn't even been started! i have yet to make a name for myself in the counseling community in austin. i moved to get away from dallas... the vibe, the people... i wanted change of scenery from buildings and pavement to more nature...

but i miss my friends and family dearly. i miss hanging out with my gfriends like we used to do. sometimes everyone would just come over to my place cuz i was in a great location. i loved being the hostess... now i'm so lonely.

I know you are still recovering (and thats likely part of the problem) but I promise that will get better. You just have to get out there and meet people by joining things (groups, clubs, singles things, whatever). I just moved to my place 2 years ago(5 hours from my past residence of 10 years) and knew a sum total of one person. I now have a small group of friends and have gotten used to my new surroundings. You have to give it time...you may end up hating it, but at least you will have given it a chance. Things will especially change after you start a job...

you're right, you're right... thank you. i have to at least give it a real honest try or i will regret it. i grew up in dallas... lived in and about it for 24 years! i was sick of bumping into people i know everywhere... it felt small town, unbelievably. i came down here to be me and shine. i will... as soon as i can be more mobile and active.

ugh... maybe i should go home for longer periods of time, just until i recuperate!

yes she is. we have forgiven each other. as colby said... we all make mistakes and sometimes let our loved ones down. she's going through her own turmoil and she is very much like a sister to me.
