Well, I just pressed "click here" on another $200 race entry fee.

I'm racing 3 weekends in a row just 2 weeks after IMAZ! I just talked an old friend into doing Gulf Coast 1/2 just 2 weeks after he does his first tri ever. We have our condo rented and I just paid the entry fee. Wow. Crazy. I'm super excited to see the Kickrunners there though!! We're staying at the Boardwalk Fri and Sat night.

So, here's what the schedule has been and what it is going to be...

1/13/08: Houston Marathon (PR)
1/27/08: 3M 1/2 Marathon (PR)
2/17/08: Austin 1/2 Marathon (PR)
2/23/08: Steps 4 Students 5k (PR)
3/1/08: Rodeo Run 10k (better be a PR!)
3/16/08: Seabrook 1/2 Marathon (promise I won't race this one...training run ~20 miles)
3/28/08: Lonestar Sprint Tri (hopefully a PR)
3/29/08: Lonestar Aquabike (1/2 ironman without the run) (never done one, so PR?)
4/13/08: IMAZ (hoping for HUGE Tithers Sandbagger-style PR)
4/26/08: Old College Tri (short pool swim sprint) (will be in Dallas for a wedding Fri and Sat night, had no idea what to do with myself all day long Saturday...so of course I found a race)
5/3/08: CB&I - FAST local tri (want another PR here)
5/10/08: Gulf Coast 1/2 Ironman (and another PR here...did 7:18 in '06)
5/17/08: Off...what am I to do?
5/24/08: Combat Tri (short pool swim sprint) (rained last year, need PR this year)
There will probably be 3-4 more sprints in June-August
8/17/08: America's Finest City 1/2 Marathon, San Diego (first long race with my bestest friend)
9/7/08: Stephanie Johnson super sprint with 10 yr old niece (will not be PR, but possibly the most memorable)
Then probably another fall marathon and fall half ironman in November.

I REALLY need a life...

holy cow...that's a lot of races! I know I'm in the minority, but I've got two races on my calendar this year. I will no doubt run a hand full as tune ups, but those are all within my training schedules...how do you set up your training with so many races and so many different distances?...that's impressive!

I'm on a mission...just not sure what kind!

IMAZ is my #1 A race, so all the stuff afterwards will just be kind of riding on the IMAZ coattails.

I trained through both the 1/2 marathons pretty much and turned my 5k Saturday into a 10 mile run. My 10k this weekend will probably be a ~12 mile run or so. I am certainly tired at times, but I'm just doing better than I ever have before and I think the PR high is what is keeping me going.

Edited to add that I just plain love racing - used to love it for the social aspect if nothing else. Now I love it for the social aspect, but also because I find myself in new territory every weekend and it is just awesome. Once my progress plateaus a bit I'm sure I'll back down some on the racing...or not.

Good for you doing all those races. Hopefully you'll be recovered enough after IMAZ to be able to race so soon. However, I can relate somewhat. A few years ago I ran a PR in a marathon. 6 days later I won the overall at a sprint duathlon. The following weekend I had a huge PR in a half marathon. 2 weeks later I had another PR in a marathon.

So far this year I've already done 6 races. 4 PRs and the other two were my best times ever at the respective courses.

You're in a good groove now. Take it as far as you can!

Awesome race schedule you've got there.

I'll be seeing you at Lonestar and GCT.

I noticed that June 29th is open on your schedule. If you're feeling up to yet another HIM, Buffalo Springs 70.3 is in Lubbock that day. I'll be there.

Then there's also Prairieman in Dallas and Redman in Oklahoma City, both in Sept.

And Austin 70.3 in October.

You could almost do a HIM each month.

But if you're like me, the debit card starts taking a beating after a while.

Seriously, that is one awesome schedule - may your racing groove take you through this year of racing and then some
