I've been engaged in a two month contract. The contract was to be extended on the contingencies that
<ol style="list-style-type:decimal;"><li>It's a good fit with the culture</li>
<li>I do a decent job as Project Manager</li>
<li>They have enough work at the end of the two months to keep me on <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"></li>
</ol>
So- the first two- I do. <i>Check</i>! My projects are being managed very effectively, Clients love me. One even asked if I had a clone running around that he could hire.<br><br>
Friday before last- the boss tells me that they don't have work for me to stay on. That's the way it goes- they're so freaking fair and nice though- they let me use up the rest of my two weeks with any spare time to look for jobs or interview...<br><br>
Then- the clone searching client pops in at the office- after he leaves- I run after him down the street and say "You wanted my clone. How about the real fucking McCoy. <img alt="huh.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/huh.gif"> Are you man enough???"<br>
He said <img alt="uhoh2.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/uhoh2.gif"> Uh- I'd love to- but I wouldn't want to make bad feelings with your bosses.<br>
I go to my bosses.<br>
Can I work for him?<br>
He's like <img alt="smile.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/smile.gif"> I was about the suggest the same thing.<br><img alt="banana.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/banana.gif"><img alt="icon_cheers.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/icon_cheers.gif"><br><br>
So- I've been in negotiation with client- and things are going well... very well...<br><br>
and today in the Project Meeting- we're scheduling projects for the next week and beyond and they're scheduling me for projects beyond Thursday (my last day) and I'm like <img alt="confused.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/confused.gif"> wtf? And the boss says Um- yeah- I've been meaning to talk with you about that...<br><br>
so- apparently my contract is extended for another month... <img alt="dontknow.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/dontknow.gif">

Or- I think they'd be interested in doing a Peanut-share program.<br>
25 hours a week at each place. <img alt="icon_scratch.gif" src="http://files.kickrunners.com/smilies/icon_scratch.gif"> that's some nice coin right there.
