Oh...and when I go to a local restaurant I ALWAYS think of you.

There's a plaque/picture/display thing of a guy who did NYC marathon in 2005.

His name is David Griffiths...he must be your long-lost cousin!

That's just fine!

The first run back is always the hardest-- fitness comes back faster because the first run back you don't only have loss of fitness but also have gotten out of practice. Woohoo, a mile!

EDIT: Unless it hurt again and that's what you meant.

Well ignoring all the puffing and panting it was getting sore, like a bad ache between my ankle and the achillies (slightly different place but it does move) a lot like how it did just before it really was injured.

Suggested to me that it's not damaged anymore but is still very weak, like it was before I did it. Deciding not to sacrifice the last two months I turned around and came home.

So, try again in 2 weeks? A Month? 6 weeks?

i would ice it and try again in a couple days. Take it VERY slow and run walk, like run one minute walk one minute, or do the couch to 5k plan. ease your body back into it. your body, muscles, and ligaments are out of practice.

I think I'm going to do that exactly, in a month. It doesn't feel like it's ready to be trained yet.

I haven't tried to strengthen it, I thought with it weakened that may not be a great idea. I have been rolling it and stretching it out well.

liath...
Do some PT ankle strengthening exercises!
Find a PT if you can.
I was AMAZED at how much it helped with my 2 sprains in 6 weeks issues this past summer.
