If you only had one more marathon you could run (or any race distance if you are not a marathoner) and money was not an obstacle as far as travel expenses, etc. where would you go to run your last marathon?<br>
And if you care to elaborate on why you would pick that particular marathon, please do so.

Well I'm always up for scenery, and I've heard a lot of good things about Big Sur.<br>
Big Sur it is. It beat out Napa and AOTG by a smidge.<br>

That's a tough one....... I think it would depend on the shape I was in....... I might go with Jesse if I felt up to the climb to Hurricane Point.... very rugged beautiful course..... I've driven the course many times. The other one I'd like to run sometime is the full at the Avenue of Giants..... I've run the half and the 10k a number of times and love the area.

Great question Tamster. Makes for a tough decision. For all the excitement of crowd lined marathon courses, with massive amounts of runners weaving through wonderful cities, my true passion runs to the more obscure. If I could only pick one final race, I would have to choose a truly unique event. I can't think of any race that would be more exciting than the Safaricom Marathon. It's run on dirt trail through a Kenyan game preserve, with wild animals such as rhino, giraffe, lion, leopard, cheetah, hippo, etc. serving as spectators. Tough course on rugged trail, at altitude, with spotter planes and helicopters buzzing overhead to alert the armed course rangers about potential hazardous animal conflict. That's my pick.

Crikies (hi Ilene), I've waited for years for a marathon to come to my home county, and just this week I found out that it's a reality. In April. <i>This</i> April. I would have done it as my first if I had known. I admit this is an unimaginative choice, but if I had to choose just one, I'd run this one.<br><br>
What can I say? I like where I live.

A tough call between the Connemara and The Fin Del Mundo marathons.<br>
I spent weeks roaming around Ireland about a lifetime ago and Connemara and Donegal were utterly magical.
