It happens on the other side of the continent as well with Sidney BC. Bizarre. The airport code for "the" Sydney is SYD. Sydney NS is YC something or other...

Bizarre, indeed.

I used to work for a company with a couple of plants in Costa Rica. We were required to use an internal travel coordinator for bookings. A coworker thought she was getting a better deal on a flight & took it upon herself to book on her own. She never got on the plane, but did find herself waiting at the gate for a flight departing to San Jose, California (SJC) and not San Jose, Costa Rica (SJO).

Luckily for her, the only consequences were that she made a fool of herself & became the eternal example of why we were required to use the internal travel coordinator.

Well, Sydney (Nova Scotia) is where I live. So if you do end up here, I'll take you in and show you around.

I've been to Athens, Greece but never Athens, GA since living in Atlanta from the 70's. But I will be visiting Athens, GA in October for a half marathon. It's supposedly a very nice city for its size.

After you go there for the HM you might want to check out: Athens, AL; Athens, TN; and Athens, OH. Why not enjoy all the Athens?
When I was a college deejay in the 80s, Athens was one of those places I wouldn't have minded seeing, with their music scene being so prominent back then (R.E.M., B-52s, Pylon, etc.) Even though I'm not so musically focused these days, still wouldn't mind going thru there to visit if I was in the area

Don't know much about Paris, Texas, except there was a movie made of the same name (which I haven't seen)

Fortunately the flights out of Sydney NS are likely going to lead to Toronto where they can pick up a flight to Sydney, Australia..

Of course they could possibly end up in Toronto, Ohio or Toronto, Kansas which might be the end of the line.
