My father passed away from it 2 years ago...by the time the found it, it was too late. I hope if anything this will bring more attention to it because I think it is by far the deadliest cancer killing 99% of the people who get diagnosed with it I THINK within a year of the diagnosis.

1! So does esophageal cancer. It's much like pancreatic cancer, in that it kills very, very fast. And it typically isn't found until it's too late to do anything about it.

My FIL managed to live 3 years before it killed him - long enough to see us get married, and celebrate our first anniversary. My grandfather made it 3 months.

Sad My SO's uncle also died from it. He was fairly young, too. My SO did take time to go visit while his uncle was still alive. He was very glad he did.

I ran my first (and so far only) marathon in part to support pancreatic cancer research. One of my co-workers was diagnosed with the disease after I had started training - he lived about 15 months after the diagnoses, long enough for me to finish the race for him.

For anyone interested check out www.pancan.org. I don't see any races listed today, but if you contact them they may have something coming up.
