CH means Club House. A forum on the old Cool Running Web Site. It could be very rude at times, and there was a group of core cool people and outsiders.

Most of the other forums were nice. Club House was rude and anything goes.

You are cool enough Kristine.

First of all, you're no doubt witty enough. And second, EVERYONE gets to play!

Oh, look down at the bottom of the screen, we can see who else is on! Nifty. In this case, it's a bunch of ex-cool, left coasters.

Well, if it goes that route, it's liable to get a little lonely here. Most of us have no wit.

There hasn't been a ton of training posting lately, here or on active. Likely a combo of holiday time and the un-sureness of whether we are staying anywhere.

So, this site was actually down for a while? I was sleeping. I find it a great board, but I wonder if the performance I see is beacause I am on it when most are sleeping, being 6 hours ahead of the east coast.

I think a lot of the non-CH multi-sporters are not very active lately (this includes me), partly due to vacations, but mostly due to confusion about where we should post these days. Once the dust settles, I think our regular group will re-surface.

In the meantime, just keep patient and keep posting your "non-cool" questions. I'll be here (or wherever) to post uncool replies. I'm about as uncool as it gets.

I think some of the CR folk used to posting all the time are sort of overflowign wiht all the wit and references that got bottled up with the transitions. It will settle down in the meantime you may be the coolest in all the land jump on in!

Hey Kristine - I wouldn't worry about it too much. I initially thought a little bit like you were thinking when I first ventured here about 6 months ago, but I think that was more needing some time to settle into the new environs.

Besides, if the CRMS forum membership does actually decide to resettle here, the forum vibe as it exists currently on CR I'm sure will transplant itself over here.

Kristine: You may not be cool enough to hang out with me any more, because I have been selected for a special honor. When I cam home yesterday, in addition to my credit card bill, I found that I had been hand selected to serve on a JURY.

In any event, hope your stress fracture is healing up OK, my pesky running injuries seem to be on the mend enough that I may try another season of duathlons, although I am tempted to try a few more mountain bike races this next season, we'll just see.

I am glad that I am not as cool as you. They don't want me on a jury ever, so having to go to jury selection process deal is a huge waste of time. But no... I get $17.50! Wow, not enough to pay for gas to get there, let alone home. Oh well, civic duty. I'll shuddp.

I see the basis for this concern. I think the signal-to-noise ratio here is a little lower than usual for a few reasons - we're settling into a new place and checking out the capabilities, it's "off season" (whatever that is) for many, etc. I bet it settles out. Either way, I'm only a half-wit and I think you're cool.

Hang in there, Kristine. I have to agree with LRR and Bannon (and a few others). I think the dust will settle. And I totally understand what you're saying about more frequent posts with a more humor angle to them. I think we're in transition, a bit lost for this time, and will settle soon. Come mid-January, with most of us in base build or well into it, our concerns, questions, and support of one another will arise from the fall of CR, and we will be back in force. We have too good a thing going, and too many people who have reaped so much benefit -- me, for one -- that we will survive.

I had thought the same, as I'm a newbie to this site from the old active tri forum. But no one posts over there though. Even though its the off season, I'm still doing stuff. I need to know other people are doing stuff too!

Don't worry Kristine...if this ends up being basically the same group, I'm sure it will have the same vibe as the old MS forum.

FWIW, I rarely hung out in the CH - posted from time to time, but MS was basically my only stop on Cool Running.

I agree with you Kristine, I have been feeling like that too. But, I also agree with the others - things will settle down. I have been in an off season for a few months and feeling out of sync with the MS forum even before the move. But, training starts again in a few days, so I'll be back in the mode. And, I think so will everyone else after the holidays and we get used to our new spot.

Good to converse with everyone again no matter what!!

Dang Kristine. First you ask if we remember you over at the other site and now claim you're not cool enough? I ought to go up to Seattle and knock some sense into you.

Things will settle down once we all nail down our next season plans and get our noses back to the grindstone and hopefully then all the other LIT MSers will be back in full force.
