I've seen about 20 or more Warren Miller movies. I always like them and they get me pumped up for the ski season. I didn't see this one because with our employment situation this year we may not be able to afford to go skiing.

Years ago when I lived for skiing, I used to study the techniques of the hotshots in these movies. About 20 years ago I had thoughts of joining the Pro Mogul Tour. That was back before there were the huge jumps in the middle of the courses and the jumps were made off the existing bumps and the landings were in the middle of the bumps, not in a landing zone.

I also learned how to jump off cliffs and land successfully, and ski the really deep powder. I think the highest cliff I jumped was about 30 feet, not the 100+ feet jumps they make in the movies. I have skied in snow so deep it blew over my face and made it almost impossible to see. Somewhere between 30-40 inches.

Our Colorado mountains are getting buried now and opening conditions are the best they've been in decades.
