Just saw the latest Warran Miller ski movie "Wintervention" last night ... Awesome! I love those movies and look forward to the show every year. I thought this movie had great music and fantastic video (as always). A little light on snowboard stuff (didn't mind .. i'm not a snowboarder). I was so inspired, i went to LSS and took the skiis in for a tune and picked up some xmas gifts while i was there?

Anyone else see the move or plan to go?

I've seen about 20 or more Warren Miller movies. I always like them and they get me pumped up for the ski season. I didn't see this one because with our employment situation this year we may not be able to afford to go skiing.

Years ago when I lived for skiing, I used to study the techniques of the hotshots in these movies. About 20 years ago I had thoughts of joining the Pro Mogul Tour. That was back before there were the huge jumps in the middle of the courses and the jumps were made off the existing bumps and the landings were in the middle of the bumps, not in a landing zone.

I also learned how to jump off cliffs and land successfully, and ski the really deep powder. I think the highest cliff I jumped was about 30 feet, not the 100+ feet jumps they make in the movies. I have skied in snow so deep it blew over my face and made it almost impossible to see. Somewhere between 30-40 inches.

Our Colorado mountains are getting buried now and opening conditions are the best they've been in decades.

Haven't seen it but we're gearing up for ski season at our house. DH and DS are hoping to ski Thanksgiving. I like the Greg Stump movies too, but don't think he's making any more.

I havent seen this one - but I am getting very excited about the upcoming Ski Season - We are abandoning Europe this year for the first time in 12 years and heading to Whistler for Christmas and New Year - the snow already looks excellent. DW and both boys are getting really really excited - the boys have never skied outside of Europe and are both desperate to do the Olympic downhill courses .

Its costing a bloody fortune but we didnt do a summer vacation last year or next year and have been saving for it for the last few years -
