most of you know that I am a sports junkie and I usually listen to ESPN sports radio on my way to/from work. I have to say that I really need to go to connecticutt and Kick Mike and Mike in nads one of these days.

blah blah blah lebron james blah blah peyton manning blah blah blah a-rod blah blah blah brett favre.....

and then the whole schtick where one guy plays the nerdy geek and the other the macho football player.

just let your guests talk and minimize the clap trap out of your mouthes.

anyway, it is the one thing I don't look forward too when football season returns....more idiots with microphones trying to ruin the fuggin games.

I don't know anyone who likes Mike & Mike. :)

I can't stand sports broadcasters as a whole. Whichever team is winning is the BEST team EVER with the BEST coach in the history of all of sports! And their star player is GOD'S GIFT TO HUMANITY!!!!

Until the other team scores or rallies or whatever, and then THEY are the most BRILLIANT team to EVER play ANY sport.

Gag me. I watch sports with the tv on mute half the time. Much less frustrating that way.

Pardon the Interruption, but Kornholer is a complete jackass, and oftentimes Wilbon seems embarassed to be in the same studio with him

From Wikipedia:

On February 23, 2010 various news sources reported that Kornheiser had been suspended from ESPN for two weeks for comments he made on his radio show about fellow high-profile ESPN personality Hannah Storm's wardrobe that day.[33]

Hannah Storm in a horrifying, horrifying outfit today. She's got on red go-go boots and a catholic school plaid skirt. Way too short for somebody in her 40s or maybe early 50s by now. And she's got on her typically very, very tight shirt. So she looks like she's got sausage casing wrapping around her upper body. I mean, I know she's very good, and I'm not supposed to be critical of ESPN people, so I won't ... But, Hannah Storm, come on now! Stop! What are you doing? ... [She's] what I would call a Holden Caulfield fantasy at this point.

—Tony Kornheiser[34]

In March 2010, Kornheiser commented: "The last time I looked, the roads were made for automobiles...We're going to be dominated as if this was Beijing by hundreds of thousands of bicyclists...They all wear … my God … with the little water bottle in the back and the stupid hats and their shiny shorts. They are the same disgusting poseurs that in the middle of a snowstorm come out with cross-country skiing on your block. Run 'em down...Let them use the right, I’m okay with that. I don’t take my car and ride on the sidewalk because I understand that’s not for my car… Why do these people think that these roads were built for bicycles? ... They dare you to run them down.”

Cyclist Lance Armstrong replied "Disgusting, ignorant, foolish. What a complete f-ing idiot."[35] Kornheiser later apologized to Armstrong on-air and offered to go on a bike ride with him[36

I do not make any attempt to look up the spelling of these, but these stand out in my mind as good or bad off the top of my head, most others are take em or leave em for me-->

Good:

Ernie Harwell (Best)

George Kell/Al Kaline

Keith Jackson

Pat Summerall

John Madden

John Sterling/Suzyn Waldman

Vin Scully

Harry Carry

Montreal Team 990 radio crew during hockey season (although they talk hockey all summer long too, I will do without that)

Jerry Remy

Bad:

Johnny Most (worst)

Tommy Heinson (worst)

Gary Danielson

Joe Morgan

Brent Musberger

The Chicago White Sox TV announcer that says annoying stuff like "he gone" and "put in on the board, yyyesss). Just call the damn game please and leave the gimmicks at home. Maybe I find it annoying because he is saying these catch phrases so often when the WS play my Tigers :(.

OK but tired of him showing up everywhere:

Joe Buck (I like that he shuts up after a big play happens and lets you listen to the stadium noise, that is a rarity)

You are out of your mind. With Steinbrenner passing last week, I was reminded of when Waldman used to do sports talk radio, and I loved her. But they are the worst possible play-by-play team. Absolutley awful. You criticised the CWS team because they should just just call the game and avoid cliches. Sterling can not say a players name without throwing in a fucking canned nick name that only he uses. He gets plays wrong so often because he is throwing in his own crap "It is high, it is far, it GONE.... ah.. um.. off the wall, its a long single for Robbie Cano, don't you know" Good god, he is the worst thing on radio, sports or not.

OK, I should probably take Sterling off the list. The A bomb from A-rod is pretty annoying too. I was thinking of their coverage of the Ernie Harwell ceremonies at Comerica part earlier this year, I thought they did a good job with that.

Harry Carey was a classic. managed to be an enthusiastic Cubs fan without running down the other team or the umps. Contrast that with Tommy Heinson who is always whining about what he thinks is biased officiating out to get the Celtics, and never has anything positive to say about a Celtic opponent.

Ummm, whenever I don't like a sportscast, I just switch to music.

Some of these guys are obnoxious and annoying on purpose that's how they get ratings... ie.. Jim Rome.

However any list that does not include Skip Bayless is a travesty. He only exists to get people mad.
