I ran the Heart Mini this morning. It was just over 9 miles. I made it for 7. I have a blister filled with blod on my toe and my thighs feel like they are on fire because they rubbed together and chafed to hell and back. When it got to the point that every step was like death, I got a ride back to my car.

I hate that. I wanted to do ok... I mean it was a training run for the half in May, but HOLY SCHNIKEES! It's amazing how bad a little blister is. Totally not worth throwing away the half in may... I may try to shop for a new brandof shoes this week... or just get rid of that particular pair. I think the seam rubs in a bad spot.

Anyway, Ihope your weekend running went better than mine did.

And it was nice to see you out there btw.

Blisters suck. I'm sorry you had that problem

Maybe you should go to The Running Spot and get fitted in a good pair of shoes.

My shoes fit... it's just the one pair that is a little off. I may save them for weights at the gym. Besides, I'm more of a Meters n Miles girl.

I;m so happy you ran a PR. When the leaders came through, I moved all the way left because I knew it would not be long till you came by. You did not dissapoint! But, you did look like crap, so I was worried What shade of Red was that, anyway? Your face, not your shirt.

I'm happy for you, Dan!

Thanks Jenna

Uh...my face tends to turn red when I run. I can't tell you the number of times people at the finish line have asked me if I was OK.

And...I won an award! Only I didn't think to stay to get it because I didn't think I had a chance at one.

So sorry Jenna. DNF's suck, but if you do this sport long enough, they are going to happen.

The best advice I can offer is take the lessons from this and apply them so that it doesn't happen in your half marathon.

Wish you lived closer Jenna, I'd buy you a beer and we could console each other. It was a great weekend here, and I can't run.

Thanks everyone. I popped the blister and left the skin on. I've been keeping neospirin on it.

Socks, I think I wore cotton... I know better, but was running late and just grabbed some.

ANTY, keep yopur dirty mitts away from my stinging thinghs.

I wonder how many calories I burned??? All the friction created heat, had to burn away some of the fat, eh?

At least I now have a fire lit under me for my half in May. I have a lot of work to do in the next month.

Oh, and no more beer... especially the night before... I had very little, but I was feeling it during the race... Lessons Learned.

I actually think DNF's are no big deal. Sometimes you eat the bear, sometimes the bear eats you. Life goes on. A DNF does not erase previous accomplishments. Sorry about the blister. Hopefully you learned something and can prevent them in the future.
