I went skiing today with a buddy. At the end of the day he mentioned how good it felt to get the boots off, along with all the other gear.

That's when it hit me, pretty much all my hobbies involve activities that feel really good to stop doing. I like to run, but it feels great to stop. I like to bike, feels good when I stop. Swim, ditto. Ski, hike... even backpacking, it's fun, I enjoy it - but it's great to get home, get those boots off and take a shower.

Weird. I wonder... I should have my wife beat me with a bat. I know I'lll enjoy it when she stops. It's cheaper than triathlon...

I only agree with you on the running. Skiing, biking, etc. I really enjoy while I'm doing it - ya it can get uncomfortable at times, but I'd rather feel that thigh burn as I carve down the mountain than the rush of blood to my feet when I get my boots off.
