Today I had a huge surprise in the fishbowl. For the first time, I decided to wear the tri shorts, instead of the loose trunks I always wear. From the warmup I noticed I'm taking too few strokes... 17 which is 2 less than normal.

Then I did 2 sets of 500y. On a longer set (yeah... that's still long for me) I'd average about 1:05 per lap. But today.... all the laps were between 55-58s (except the first and last which were around 52). The first 500 took me 9:24, the second 9:40. This is the first time I average below one minute/lap in anything longer than 100y. I also did a fast 50y, in 43s, 5s faster than my PR.

Is this all just because of the parachutes I was wearing?? I still can't believe this jump in my times. Now I can't wait to do a long swim and see what do I get... next longest swim will be 1,200y.
