I just registered for my 2nd ever marathon.
Nov. 15....my birthday
Richmond.
Woo hoo.

Plus, it's close to family, so they'll be able to go there and cheer me on.

Now, I MUST stick to a training plan. Nothin' like a for sure registration to keep you honest, huh?

Isn't there at least one other person here who'll be doing Richmond? (Doesn't that sound dirty? lol)

I've had a good friend that did Richmond the last 2 years. She LOVES it.

Isn't it advertised as America's Friendliest Marathon?

Stitcher is friendly...she'll fit right in!

Yay! Fellow scorpios can rule the world!!

My mom says that when Neil was takin' his historic stroll, she was holding me up outside, tiny little face looking at the moon. She wanted me to be able to say that I "saw" the walk as it was taking place.

Go super nostalgic Mom!

It's my pseudo hometown race.
My sis lived on Grace street while she was at VCU.
Then, she lived in a "respectable" house during her first marriage.
She's now up in Woodbridge.

My niece's bio-dad runs a coffee shop in R'mond.....PM me if you'd like the name of it.

My parents live SW of the city in a tiny little itty bitty town....that's where I am now. Me, the cows, and my paranoid dad. He's "unhappy" with me running on the roads. (*sigh*)

[schmaltz]God bless him, though.....no matter how old I'll get, he'll still worry about me. All together now....awwwwwwwwwwww.[/schmaltz]

My sis's current inlaws live on the route (we think)...

So...hopefully there will be many people to support.

Yup....the friendliest.
Thanks for the compliment, T.

I figure if I can make a respectable showing there, then the next year I can try for Marine Corps. Lots of people in my running club shoot for Marine Corps, then, if they miss the lottery entry, will do R'mond as a fall back, since they're usually within a week or two of each other. Similar training schedules.
