Being AWOL for so long it is just not right. So don't anyone add replies to this non-thread, citing your daily workouts, recoveries, or travels back to the west coast.

5M at 9:00s for me. The heat and out of shapeness made it a chore. But thanks to Mariposai I have a two day streak going!

Oh, whatever, Pro... We don't hold grudges about people being AWOL. Thanks for starting.

I ran 10 miles this morning and 8 were with hubby. However, he developed a very sudden case of knee pain (IT band) and starting walking at mile 8. I ran back and forth to him to get to 10 and then we walked the rest of the way home together. This is not good with our half marathon looming next Sat. He's on ice and prescription anti-inflammatories right now.

friday morning after my sweaty run i weighed 164.5. friday night after a great dessert i weight 175. (can i enter the "biggest gainer" contest?) i guess that's 5+ quarts of sweat.

Can't wait to hear about tomorrow's workout McS

10 miles this morning before McSun came out to burn us. Imbedded 4 X .75 intervals at 5K pace with .25 recoveries. Thurs was a big bonk so I'm glad today's workout is over.

Sorry to hear of MrHoovie's IT problems. Sometimes they flare up out of the blue. Does he regularly stretch? I would ask about a foam roller too, but I think everyone here knows I'm a huge proponent of using the roller to keep things pliable . . .

nothing for me today. I thought DH and I were going to hit the Farmers Market this a.m., so got up, showered, etc. and then when I mentioned it, he said he didn't want to go. grrrrr... I could have taken advantage of a nice cool a.m. and gone for a run. So, I opted for plan B, make myself a cup of coffee, sit outside on the patio and continue cutting beans. Now, my thousands of beans are cut and ready for canning. Just trying to muster up the motivation to get it started. It's a long process - but well worth it in the end. I love seeing all my canned veggies on the pantry shelf.

Will hit 104 here today - glad the relay isn't THIS weekend! It looks like we are cooling off to mid 80's by next week. that'll feel great!

choovie, like what Tammy said, get your DH on a foam roller NOW!!! (I feel like I'm channeling Sans Souci...)

12 miles on a cool 75°F morning. 7:58/mi. The legs protested the whole way. What a bunch of whiners. Don't they now how lucky they are? They could have to do mcsolar's run tomorrow, but no, they'll just sit around the house all day. Wimps.

Nice to see Pro show up over here, if even to not start the daily. Seems like we're a bunch of slackers over here these days!

That's some wild fluctuation in weight there, mc. Sounds like some pretty severe dehydration after your morning run, but apparently you replaced it... and more?

Speaking of slacking, I'm not doing much today. Just some puttering around the house, unfortunately fully clothed (house full of boys), more cleaning the garage and fiddling around in the garden. I'll get out for a run later on, but just 3-4 really easy in prep for tomorrow's race. It's going to be muddy... today's sprinkles and cloud cover are making sure of that. I might spend a bit of tomorrow's race looking in the bushes for blueberries. It's getting to be about that time...

Hey everyone. 5.5 miles in the rain forest, smooth and steamy. Even the ground smelled hot, that moist mud smell that reminds me of when I was little. Somehow I've run over 25 miles already this week. I have no clue how that's happened.

2.5 sluggish miles in the 26°C/84% humidity, but the feet and ankles feel goot.

Before it started to pour, I got out in the garden to harvest a few things. Peas are almost finished, so we get our last good feed tonight. Beans are going gangbusters and the first of the cucumbers will be ready in a day or so. Blinkin' deer ate my chard again!

Have fun tomorrow, Erika!

Thanks for the foam roller reminders. He uses a stick but I don't think that works as good as a roller.

I like OM's description of her run.

Well as long as AWOL Pro is starting the thread ...

Still no running for moi, but that did not stop me from having a lovely visit with Mariposai and DH. Henrun, Marj, Rtravers and TPFD coming over was icing on the cake.

off to eat some sweets and see if I can top mc as the biggest winner - or something like that!

Then I headed out on the marathon course to find Rosie & the RS. Hot weather and a challenging course made it a hard day for the marathoners.

Have you ever run the John and Jessie Kelly Ocean Beach park race? It's free and great fun. I did it last year and a group of us are going again. 11.6 fun miles, the ocean and good post race chow all for the price of postage for your SASE. I am going to do it as an MP test race. Come join the fun!

Hi CNY!

Just back from the Cape today. Lots of laundry to do now including all the sheets/towels/clothes as we stayed at a friend's house and I have lots of cleaning too as my SIL & family are coming Tuesday from CA to stay for a while . . . So, not sure how that race would work in with company who will still be visiting . . . and it does not appear to have my favorite -> race day registration. I was thinking this was the Friday night one before clicking, but that must a different one that's in RI - a 10 miler. Haven't done that one either. I don't think I've even done a race yet this year.

It's nice not being logged in on an iTouch - I haven't figured out how to view TW's spoilers on it . . . It will be nice running routes I know the distances of too! I google earthed my yesterday's run in the Cape and it only came in at 12.3.

Nice 10k MB! How'd Rosie and the Scientist do? Pictures? You know, when I want a good laugh, I still go back to the dreadful slideshow you made - I have it bookmarked!

Hi Pink! No action shots, but here's a photo of us at dinner after the race. Rosie has other pix, none of them dreadful I hope.

Ralph finished in ~4:25, and Rosie called it a day at mile 20. It was one of the hottest days of the year, and it's a punishing course for the marathoners.
