6.07 miles in the dark in 57:18. My pace sucked and it was a total struggle today to make it 6 miles. At one point I was ready to just bail out on the run and cut it back to 5 but I was able to somehow find a second breeze and get enough energy to stretch it out to 6.

Have a good day everyone.

FB, is it really humid where you are right now? That really sucks it out of you. Nice job on the miles.

10.4 miles for me this morning. Added some tempo miles in the middle, sort of spur of the moment.

Good morning all.

Good job toughing it out FB.

Nice 10.4 + tempo Jill.

I did my 8-mile mountain road run. Manage to catch a cyclist going up the mountain -- of course he then whizzed by me down the other side...

Hip seems better today -- just a little tight...

Morning...

FB - Way to gut it out.

Jill - Nice going Jill.

Loopy - Catching him going up the mountain was the real test.

Beat this morning and had to get up early to catch a ferry. No time or desire to run. May try this afternoon.

FB- Nice job on the early run

Jill- Are you training for anything specific right now?

Loopy- You get a lot of bikers on your trails?

Dan- Hope you can get a run in today

I may strike out on a 3 mile recovery here in a minute. 3 day weekend this weekend... ol' Tony the Tigers gonna let me off. We got some killer weather blowin in on Friday too! I think the low on Sunday is showing 56*. I gotta get a lil scouting in this weekend also... gonna have to do my long run on Friday.

Hey all... 8 miles easy on the t-mill for me this morning hypnotized by the endless ESPN loop; it was raining and I wimped out on running outside :)

FB - way to gut it out

Jill - solid milage for midweek, it's always nice to get a pick-up in

loopy - glad to see the hip's doing okay

Dan, BBS - good luck w/ the runs or rest this afternoon.

Haer a good one, everyone!

FB--nice job finishing it out. I do think "bad" runs are far more valuable when it comes to racing. You have trained through it, so you can dig deep come race day.

Jill--are you getting this crazy hot weather with air quality alerts?

loopy--passing a cyclist going up a hill was a major achievement for me! Okay, so they were old and on a cruiser...

Dan--hang in there!

BBS--enjoy!

Fishbowl for me this morning. 2500meters. Yawn..................

Hullo, peoples.

FlBoiler -- Way to stick it out in tough conditions, I'm sure.

Jill -- Impromptu tempo run? Nice treat. And I like your new avatar.

loopy -- I love catching a cyclist. They always seem so surprised -- and bent about it. Good job.

Dan -- Rest up if that what the bod says.

BBS -- Tony? He's GRRRREEEEAAAT! Have a good shakeout run.

zrun -- Nice job on the 'mill. Even splits, I presume? ;)

4boys -- Nice job on the mile-plus swim. Can't fathom. Get it? "Fathom"? :)

Me -- Had a great interval workout in 60-degree weather yesterday. 12 total with 6 X 1000M at 6:00 pace. Felt great. Starting to get excited about racing.

Giving a lunchtime presentation to a group of businesspeople on the advantages of tax lien certificates as an alternative investment. Hope they all stay awake. Then, it's out on the greenbelt for 15.

4bm, no. We have great weather right now. It's been getting hot in the afternoon (90's) but mornings have been really nice. This weekend the high is expected to be mid 70's. Perfect for the ultra I'm running on Sunday.

I completely agree with 4bm re: bad runs and being valuable on race day.

Busy day already. Nice job on all the great running this morning. I had a nice 5 miles in 43:15(8:39). It was the best run I have had all week.

4BM- The test went well yesterday. I hope your husband and son enjoyed it.

Chances, your punnery today is just tying me up in "knots."

Hump day, apparently is "stupid day" for me. First I get up in the morning, early again and sleep deprived, because DW needed to get out to work early. So I make breakfast, including smoothies then I made some oatmeal and coffee while she got ready. Then we sit down to breakfast and I completely forget about the smoothies. Oh, it gets better. Then after breakfast I shower, and pack a running bag for midday, because that's the only window I had for a run today (and it's a tight one at that). Because forecasted temps are 95 and I need to do intervals I planned on hitting the gym TM across the street. All I need to do for that is pay $7 when I get there. So then I drive to work...and when I get to work I realize I left my wallet at home. Brilliant.

Well, stupid is as stupid does...unscheduled rest day most likely.

Jill - I saw that note about the ultra on FB, that you were "attending" it and wondered if you were running it or just observing so you could blog about it on your site. Now we know. Good luck with it, sounds like fun, and that's a lot coming from someone who has sworn he will never, ever, go beyond 26.2.

FB - I'm with Jill about the humidity.

zrun - nice TM run. I'm familiar with that ESPN News loop; think I was running on the TM the day after the LeBron thing, must have seen it 5-6 during times that run.

Loopy - I think biking big hills is definitely harder than running them. Unless your last name is Contador.

Dan - understand your schedule frustration today, see above.

Chances - 60? I don't know what that even feels like anymore. Nice job on the 1000s. You are going to mash Chicago.

4bm - nice swim. I'd yawn too because I would definitely need a nap after that distance.

BBS - Tony the Tiger's in charge, huh? Guess that's better than Toucan Sam running the shop...he seems kinda flaky to me.

Kevin - almost missed your post...consistency as always.

I decided to start the new month off right. Nothing this morning. I was over tired, sore and surly. The crappy weather, a 7am BS conference call and taking DD to the doctor didn't help matters. Anyway, track club has a 2 person relay tonight. Alternate 400s for 4, 6 or 8 miles. I may make it if I can stay awake. My old track club has 800s, which is the workout I'd rather do, but none of my friends go there.

I just remembered that I'm running a HM on Labor Day. It's on a mix of crushed limestone trail and pavement and billed as challenging. Hopefully a light week will enable a PR but based on how I felt during and after my "tempo" run yesterday I'm bracing for a shitty performance.

Jill - sounds cool. I may be doing Hood to Coast next year.

Hey all - sounds like a crazy day for R & RR peeps.

I did an early am run and got to see the sunrise but just now had time to post it. Ran the cedar track with the pup for another 3 m. As Jill said temps are low in the morning so it was pleasant and no one was on the track.

Hope some of you have a better Thursday.....

4boys - nice job, are you starting to grow gills :)

Jill - wow, that sounds really interesting doing 5 x 5 miles with 90min-2hrs rest, I am looking forward to reading about it. I'm planning on 20 Sunday, all at once :)

Chances - great job with the intervals, you are ready to rock Chicago

Kfuller & apple - nice runs,

Good luck to those planning on getting the runs in tonite!
