Tempo intervals for me on the treadmill this morning, totally about 8.3 miles. Not bad. As much as I whine about running on the hampster wheel, it is wonderful for mornings like today when it is 0 degrees (notwithstanding wind temps). The frigid has set in here, so I better make nice with my TM for the week.

Not a lot of other exciting stuff here.....

Howdy, folks.

5.0 last night on the TM. Will be 3-5 tonight doing the same, + weights/core.

Despite feeling like I slept fairly well last night, I am dragging a$$ this morning. I could easily go back to bed, I think. At the very least, I'm sure that a sacrifice to the couch monster would be a successful mission! /yawn

Had a client in yesterday for a training class. Found out that he's in St. Paul, and inquired about weather in August. He said that at the most, the high might be 80 degrees. Realizing this was when the scheduled half marathon is, I caught myself thinking "that's IT? Ooh, this is going to be sweet!" :) Rawr.

Morning! Two TM miles this morning. Finally running more than walking! Ankle was a little angry at the end, but ok now. I'm going with a lacing issue as the reason.

morning

Got in just under 8 at the dome last night - 2 min ons (at about 5k pace) and then 90 seconds off

This morning was 7 miles outside..it was ok except that my hip never warmed up and thus an awkward run was had. I actually shed a layer on my torso and my hands after the half mile with the dog.

Oy..today is going to be long. I slept like crap and had to be up at 430

HIIT training after work for the first time...we'll see how that goes.

Hello hello.

Damn, I missed PC?

Fly-by for me. Race was super fun (I feel wimpy complaining about the temperature after reading RIL's post, but it was 22 with a wind chill of 11 degrees, which is COLD in my book). My ponytail froze! That was a first.... Anyway, my friends and I ran it for fun, and fun it was. Lots more pics and details in my blog. Gotta go.

Ah, that reminds me. I need to schedule a haircut too. Getting unruly around here.

Also, as far as the MN half goes, I will just be going for fun and a meet-up too as it will be early, early in my fall season and I too suck at running in the heat. Ailarie - that early in the morning it is unlikely to get past 80, but if it is anything like WI there, it could still be grossly humid and icky. In this part of the country there are never any guarantees on good weather. You need to go to Eugene for that. :)

Morning all! Another p.m. run for today as I had an early dentist appt and I can't seem to get my ass to bed early so I can wake up early... blah blah blah, same old story. Anywho, I may consider that MN HM with you ladies... trying to find a good full marathon that is later in the year and considering both Philly and CIM.

Mindi – with your new coach & training plan, how are you figuring out tempo pace? …similar to Daniels plans? I’m interested in hearing more

Brandy - that pic on FB proves what a badazz you are, kudos!

Alexis - great pics!

Kath - how did the second set of birch logs turn out?

Girlfriend, by August, I will be quite acclimated to conditions of "grossly humid and icky." thanks to life in Georgia. :) I figure the starting temps in MN would be anywhere from maybe 55-65? Maybe cooler if we're lucky. Most summer Sat/Sundays, I have to be on the pavement as soon as light allows, to get temps that are anywhere below 65-70. :)

Eugene is on the maybe list - assuming they have a half!

Love the photos Theia! I'm off to your blog momentarily for more....

Good morning peeps

Reading about everybodys temps and being out in said temps to run, I dont know how you all do it. Looking at Brandys pic of her frozen face this morning on FB was amazing. Although I have found with biking I cant ride the bike in 35-40 degree weatehr dressed like im going to run in that weather. I forgot to take into consideration im going anywere from 15-20 mph on the bike and it gets cold. So I now own my first pair of tights and a brigth yellow windbreaker lol.

So whats this half in August in MN you folks are mentioning? Is this gonna be an official meetup?

boB loved the pics from yesterdays post. I need to upload the shots I got from Sunday and share them. As for the distance I traveld to see ya, it really wasnt that big of a deal. Your 2500 miles from home, its the least I could do. I dont expect people to do it for me, but thats just how I roll. Plus it got me out of the house Sunday LOL

Have my inline skates in the car so I think Ill go skating outside at lunch. Hope I dont kill or injure myself in the process, I dont sakte much outside, usually just play hockey on rinks with them

Good morning, y'all.

Well Frankie, I still appreciate you coming out to see me. I'd love to see the pics you took. I'll sift through all mine sooner or later. For now, the ones I posted yesterday will have to do...

Speaking of pics, you look really happy in those, Theia!

Boo for bad sleep and bad backs and freezing temps...

I'll try to squeeze in some sort of workout today for the first time since the marathon...

He is doing well. He's not a ready-made family pet though; he is very "mouthy" and has one particular tooth that's still pretty sharp so even though he doesn't bite down he tends to rake your hand (or the kids' feet!) with it and that can scare the little ones, so we're working on correcting that. He has a crazy amount of energy, which is fine since both Amy and I want to take him out for long runs or walks, but when the weather is like this (extremely windy and rainy) and he's stuck indoors he's a bit of a freak. He's going to be an awesome frisbee dog as he loves to jump and catch things.

Elliptical and weights yesterday, running on the TM today. I'm taking our home TM motor into the electric motor repair shop today to have the brushes checked out.

iPhone veterans: are there any preferences or settings for kick that make it easier to read and post via iPhone? I think there was a post about it, but I can't find it. Thanks!

So far, people in and/or cheering are me, Sage, Cranie, Nettie (I think), RiL, and hopefully BigG. Others have indicated possibly joining, but I'm not sure of anyone else's almost-confirmation that they're in :)

Good luck with your skate adventures! :)

Hey, all. Have to run in a bit, but thought I would drop by. Despite getting to bed at a reasonable hour, I ignored both my alarm and my reset alarm and just slept in. That sounds great, except it means that I'm going to have to start talking myself out of bed again in the mornings, which is a sure sign of resurgent depression. Who would have thought that my mom being in town would actually be good for chasing bad feelings away? That's certainly new.

I'm not sweating it too much, though, because I got disappointing news yesterday that I won't be Missy's sorta neighbor. Waiting a month for bad news is not fun. Anyhow, I have other pans in the fire (is that the right reference?) so I'm trying not to get too bummed.

No exercise today, but I'll get a workout in tomorrow morning and then meet the new trainer on Friday. I did run into my chiropractor when I was out to dinner last night, and that was actually fun. I also got to hear about a friend's sexual escapades, which was interesting but slightly depressing too.

Great pics, everyone!

I was really happy, and here's why. I finally figured out the secret to being happy during a race. Don't race! Just run for fun!

(((Prae))) Sorry you didn't get the news you wanted. That just means it wasn't right for you. The right job is still out there.

Hi Frankie! There's a coed mini-meetup in Seattle in June. Do that one.

Our day in NYC was wonderful. We went to the 9/11 Memorial (worth seeing), saw friends, walked through Central Park, went ice skating in CP (that was the big surprise), window shopped on 5th Avenue, and capped off the day with Grimaldi's pizza with Maria and Missy (and AK). A great, great day.
