No run for me again today. Will do GOTR tonight, but taking it really easy this week. And already feeling guilty about it. But, I have been exhausted. We have something every night of the week and I did not get home from my board meeting until 8:30 last night. Gah. I'll hit the road again tomorrow am.

what is GOTR?

7.25 miles with speed last night. started out with half mile repeats at tempo pace (3), then 20 min at GRP then 3 x 1 min at interval. The temps were great and amazingly my legs felt great as well. woot! I did eat a few bugs though.

I realized that last week was my first week in the 50s since last year. It was just over a year ago that I sprained my ankle so it is about time!!

Hyland hils tonight - it is supposed to be raining - boo.

Meh. I was a bad girl last night and didn't run. Got in late and just had no motivation. I did, however, spend some quality time with my foam roller. (yeeeoowwch!). The legs DO feel better this AM, so in hindsight, I think things worked out. I'll get maybe 3-4 on the TM during lunch today.

Brandy - awesome workout and mileage! Nice!

Mindi - don't feel guilty about the downtime. You need it in order to recharge.

No run for me. Another crappy night of sleep because of crappy life stuff. It's taper though, so I'm not behind on the schedule yet.

Good morning, ladies. Taper time here too, of course. I did an easy run last night, and I'll do another easy one tonight. My legs are still feeling just a little bit sore, I guess from the really long run on Saturday. So this taper is coming at just the right time...

Good luck with the schedule, RIL. Sounds tiring. My world seems about the same right now.

Sweet mileage, Brandy.

I had my first appt with the new PT people yesterday. Ironically, my leg has been feeling a thousand times better having taken this entire week+ off and continuing the ART stuff. Figures -- at the PT session, the girl did Graston on me and holy moly does that hurt. I could tolerate the scraping in the calf/achilles area, but when she worked behind my knee it just felt so wrong. I am bruised and swollen. Feels like I'm moving backwards in the healing. Ugh. And I get to go back today. Yippee!

As you all already know, KP is AWESOME with knowledge and info on this kind of stuff -- Thanks for tolerating my sort-of freak out about that treatment yesterday, Kev!

Brandy - GOTR = Girls on the Run.

Well, after the race soreness has mostly passed I ran a little yesterday. 2miles and then a little hip and arm work. Not much, but I don't have a schedule or training right now. It really feels kinda nice.

As for the internet/privacy questions - I tend to be a bit conservative on these things. My mantra is once on the internet, forever on the internet. I work with some very computer/internet savvy people and I know if it crossed their mind they could find me, so I control what they will find.

What is a Humo?

7 cool and breezy miles. Very comfy weather. Kind of an odd run. Left calf was a litttle twingy.

Also, last night my legs felt - just weird. And wired. I had a hell of a time falling asleep because of it. Not sore, not crampy, not twinging. it was very odd.

5 recovery miles for me this morning. Felt good to go slow and catch up with my neighbor.

solar, ugh on the Graston. I've heard that hurts. Week off and feeling better? Sounds like you really, really needed that.

ril - push that guilt right out of your mind!! Do whatever you need to do. Tie a ribbon around your wrist or something. Downtime = re-energize! You can do it.

RFTL - I cannot tell you how good it is to hear you so calm and relaxed with your training this time around. This is going to be a good race, I just know it.

Excellent job with the workout and the miles Brandy.

Good morning Ailarie, Bob and phdatc. And Litch! (you snuck in on me.)

Graston hurts like a mofo. However, the results from it are just amazing. I'm starting to have ankle/arch issues again and am hopeful about a visit to my ART guy this Friday for that very reason.

GOTR = Girls on the Run - it is a program I coach. Group of 3rd to 5th grade girls. We talk about important life stuff then we run a lot - we will ultimately run a 5K at the end of the season.

I ran 8 hilly miles last night. Felt really good.

Yea Brandy for amazing legs!

Litch - I've been wearing these graduated compression socks and it's really helped with that wired twitchy feeling. I wore the socks last night from after my run to the time I went to bed - I just can't sleep in them. And no resltessey legs. Same after Sunday's long run. I didn't run on Monday and so I didn't wear the socks and I had the twitchy legs. SO, I'm thinking perhaps I should wear them every evening. They also have helped with my foot cramping. I didn't go with the fancy $50 athletic recovery socks, I bought mine at some online Geezer store for $12.99- I think it was Dr. Leonards - anyway, those seemed to be the least expensive ones I could find even with the S&H.

WTH is going on with everyone getting sick? It's freaking me out. People on FB posting about being sick, people at work are sick, my kid is sick. Is it bad that I'm just opening his door a crack and handing in food and beverages? I'm hand sanitizing as I write this.

I have been increasing my mileage, and yesterday was the first "real" tempo stuff I have done in a long time. I do need to start stretching and doing more core stuff. Starting to feel my back (and not in a happy way) a bit.

Speaking of which, I had Graston performed by my chiro a few years back. Did not feel like it did much for me, but I kinda felt that way about everything my chiro did.

Hi all - 10.2 miles yesterday. Took a litle while to find my groove, but once I found it, it clicked right in.

Weird - they're actually talking about RAIN this weekend. Last time I ran a trail race in the rain, it was not a pretty picture (screwed up my usually non-problematic IT band) so I'm hoping the rain holds off until I'm done getting in that 30K.

Lora - really hoping the PT gets you back into fighting form.

Sounds like some downtime is what's need for sure, RIL - don't feel guilty about taking it either.

Never had any Graston done on me, but ART yep. Actually, I kinda' wonder if I'm getting my money's worth when my ART session does NOT turn out to be so pain-inducing.

I have not run in about 2 weeks. Then again, I did hike about 20 miles total while on vacation, including up/down some fairly significant hills. I'm still trying to shake a bug I picked up, but the weather here is perfect for running so we'll see how I feel this afternoon. I'm tired, but I think my head is clear enough for the run otherwise.

Morning all! My super early wake-up yesterday coupled with a full day and a big dinner with mom last night caused me to sleep in today, snoozing the hell outta my alarm. Will be out for some fartleky miles after work.
