Hey everyone!

No run for me this morning because I had a killa (yet awesome) track workout last night. Now this girl needs some rest. Good news is that I am not sore at all. Muscles a little tight, but nothing that will take days to recover from.

What do you have on tap today?

Good job, RIL!

I didn't get to run this morning like I've been doing lately. DH came home from backshift really tired and didn't want to wait up while I went. *sigh* I feel all "off" because of it and I don't like that. I didn't even know what to wear this morning.

I took the bike to work today, though, in hopes that I'll be able to go on the 10k ride with the Heartland Tour people when they come through. It's during work hours but I look at it as a PR type of thing considering my job. That works, right? Right!

Other than that, I hope to get my run in later on either before or after supper.

Good Morning!

Wow, I've been able to get online the past few days! I owe some emails, I've can't get my ATT to jive with my outgoing mail server. I've had it working before, I don't know what's up.

Baggs, VERY nice site!!!

Great speed workouts last night from a bunch of you!

It's really storming here right now, so I'm hanging out in BABs for a while. Just sitting around, the leg feels basically fine from yesterday's 8, I'll either rest it today or go for a super short one.

Great track workouts last night peeps!

Jen - good news that the leg is feeling ok. Will you be up for the Urban HM on Aug 7th?? I'll be running it as training run.

I got out for 9 miles this morning. It was SO soupy out there. Yuck. But it's done and I'm on track for the week.

morning

track workout last night was brutal mostly due to the weather conditions and the unrelenting sun. I got through the 300s okay and the 600s were passable except when the sun came out. The 200s immediately felt rough with my ankle and opposite shin talking back so I bailed and tried to get my cooldown in. The stomach did not cooperate on that part and I barely did any of it. hurumpf. Dew point was in upper 60s too so that MIGHT have something to do with it.

Trying to get to Hyland tonight but the weather might make that impossible with T-storms on tap for this afternoon and heat index near 100. eek.

Excess wine last night convinced me to sleep in this morning and take a rest day. May go out for drinks again tonight, though, which may make getting up for a run tomorrow difficult. I'll try though.

Thanks for the compliments on the site. I appreciate them. Duck - I totally could live in Oregon. :)

Totally craptastic speedwork session. Hot and humid, dewpoints at 67, no shade.

Started with two sets of 3x300 at mile pace, hit those in about :60-:63. Then it was supposed to be 5x600m at 5k. Started to really struggle at the end of first interval. Still managed to run them between 2:20-2:25. Decided enough was enough and didn't finish the workout which was an additional 4x200m.

Jen - I think I'm going to try and get up to Duluth mid-August. I want to run on the Superior Trail for a bit. I'm doing the Moose Mountain Marathon in September.

Good morning!

30 min bike and 30 min run. The brick felt pretty good. I actually managed to find a little bit of a groove in the last 10 minutes of the run. Sadly though I accendentially hit a squirrel in the park. :(

Greetings, all.

6 TM'ed miles last night. Will head to the YMCA after work for spinning class, and will get my assisted pull ups / drop downs done while there. Bi/tri and core work also await this evening.

Jen - good luck with that outgoing server issue. I end up (when I work from home and use outlook) having to manually change the outgoing mail server every time to AT&T's default setting. Annoys the snot outta me, but I couldn't figure a way around the issue otherwise.

G'morning all. Rest day yesterday, but my ART provider twisted up my core and lower back area pretty good (felt like I was the receiver of some of the latest self-defense techniques to subdue an attacker for awhile). Back to running today - gonna' aim for 8-10 depending on how I feel after work.

Jen - great to see you get out for some mileage. And believe me, I know - A T and T is the suck!

Nice workouts already gang - continued good sessions to the rest of ya!

Cindi, no 1/2 for me that soon! I'll be gald to just be able to keep up around 8-10 miles a few days a week for the next few weeks. It's going to be months before I'm back in racing shape. I can't even imagine trying to run fast right now, I'm pretty sure it would set me right back to where I started (plus I'm wickedly out of shape right now).

Baggs, we'll be in Duluth next weekend, I have my follow up with the ortho next Friday. I think we'll drive the bus down and stay on Park Point. Let us know when you are going to be up there!

AT&T is the only option up here. I only have a signal 1/2 of the time, it's bad.

Good morning, folks. Another busy morning for me, and thus another late first post...

My legs felt a little sore yesterday, so I kept the run REALLY slow. Things feel better today, although maybe not perfect. Meh, I'll get something done tonight. Probably on the hills. It's pouring buckets now, but it'll still be quite a few hours before I start a run...

Phenomenal 9 miles this morning. 4x10 min at tempo pace in the middle. I was a bit slower on the tempo portions than I'd hoped for (goal pace today was 8:55-9:05) but I was really consistent across them: 9:07, 9:06, 9:03, 9:06. Plus factoring in the heat/humidity (75F, 74%H) I'm very pleased with everything. Plus the run felt GOOD. I was working but not suffering.

I just got done a fantastic swim -- 2000 yds, with only a slight stop in the middle to adjust my goggles. I should swim more. Or not -- sometimes my best swims are after I have been away from the pool for a week+!

Running tonight with the group run. Something between 6.5-8 miles, probably.

i'll rub your upper hammy/left butt if you rub mine. please read on...

i had to take y'day off b/c of it. i ran a nice 8.9 miler on monday afternoon w/10X100+ yard strides and woke up tues am with a massive pain & stiffness in my left hip joint/left glute/hammy area - really deep in there. i had a tough time swinging my leg forward with every step. vitamin i didn't even help. i tried foam rolling it but couldn't reach the spot. it's like i pulled my taint or something. cripes.

it's not as sore today but i'm afraid i'm gonna run out of day before i can run.

/whiner
