Strength work done - a crossfit type workout, 4 rounds or 5 australian pull-ups, 10 pushups, 15 squats, 20 sit-ups done for time, so as fast as I can with good form. Still on track for a perfect January.

Long day at work ahead - have to be there at 9 am for baseball practice and we've got a home women's hoops game tonight at 7:30 pm, hopefully I'll be home by 9:30.

Greetings PhDatc, KP and all who shall follow.

4M last night on the TM. Will go for 4-5ish tonight. Weights/core are on tap, too.

It's an incredibly gloomy day here. Dark. Rainy. Storms moving in and out with a cold front pushing through. It would have been a GREAT day to stay in bed, let me say! Sometimes being responsible is no fun at all! :)

Have a great day, folks

Morning!

2 miles TM this morning.

Funny thing: DH bought an Ice Machine off of Craigslist. Turns out it was Manning's house. There's a guy in Indy that buys high end appliances and refurbishes them. This one had a coil go bad or something. Good as new now :)

Morning all!

I got up early to get work done and will hit my run soon in the daylight and warmer temps. We are supposed to get heavy winds + 6-8" of snow tomorrow, so I am going to enjoy the balmy weather while it is here. Invervals today! My favorite! They are at tempo pace too (rather than VO2Max), so they should feel pretty good (as opposed to buringlungsmightdie workout).

Morning

TT last night went ok. The warm up just didn't feel right mechanically and I started to get a side ache towards the end.

So I just decided to kind of play it by ear. Each lap is 0.38

First interval

lap 1 - 2:40 - 7:03 pace

lap 2 - 2:45 - 7:17

Lap 3 - 2:42 - 7:08

Lungs BURNING, hacking a lot - I hate these workouts

2nd interval

lap 1: 2:37 - 6:55

lap 2: 2:41 - 7:05

hack hack - not AS bad with the burning - side ache back

3rd interval

lap 1 and only: 2:26 - 6:26

blech - that HURT

general aerobic miles tonight. I was HOPING to get my butt out of bed super early and run before the cold front/snow comes in but I didn't. so sigh

Love the little puppy faces!! I counted 8, no wonder that's a tired momma! I have no interest in getting a puppy (or even adult dog) but will happily play with any I come across.

Nice puppy pics!

I feel like a slouch! I haven't run since the race on Saturday. The weather has been horid here and I've not felt all that good. I did get a massage and a chiro treatment so I'm not feeling as beat up as I was. I'm telling myself that I'm allowing some recovery so I can run a decent marathon this weekend. But I need to get some miles. Maybe I'll slip out the door for some this morning.

Hrmph, can't see RIL's pics here at work.

Amichel, you bought an ice machine from Peyton Manning? I'm not surprised his was busted. He's probably been using a lot of ice on his neck...

Nice speedy run, Brandy!

Oh the horrors! I had a dream that I showed up at the start line of the marathon in Phoenix and I forgot to bring the BobCam! All I was remember was that I was debating about whether I had time or not to go back to the hotel to get it.

I did an easy 2.5 miles last night, and maybe there'll be something similar tonight...

morning peeps.

I slept last night, thank god, so, while I'm still a bit shaky, I am not exhausted like yesterday. I have an appt with Dr. Phil (my, not THE) today, then guitar, then I plan to take Penny for a short run with me before it gets dark.

I know I'm 3 years behind, but Angry Birds is addictive. I had tried to play it before but didn't enjoy it til I started playing on the bigger screen of my Kindle. Stupid game! Also, if anyone plays Words With Friends, hook me up!

Lora, I actually have been trying to break out of my usual routine as much as possible. I've even considered moving away from Boston, but it's so complicated with Penny, and wanting to stay close to my father, just in case. But it's one of the reasons I'm trying to plan some short trips, and why I'm doing Ladies Rock Camp in May. While I know that doesn't seem like a stretch, to have to actually play an instrument on stage, plus meeting a big group of new women and have to work together is def out of my comfort zone.

Nice workouts, folks!

Moe - sounds like you've got some good plans!

Cute puppies.

I just realized I haven't taken a day off from running in more than a week, and ran a solid 8.5 miles yesterday, so today I'm heading to the pool and yoga after work.

KP - I knew what you meant, I just thought a "perfect January" sounded very nice. :)

Just got back from my run and it was way harder/suckier than it should have been. .25 mile intervals at tempo pace is NOT easy. I'd go out way to fast and then slow to get to the right pace, which meant I was not hitting the right pace. Boo. My Garmin paces were jumping all over pretty sporadically too - I think I had a crappy satellite read. Oh well. I little over 10 miles in the books this am.

Moe - glad you got a better night of sleep. I don't get the Words with Friends thing. I think Wordscraper is a million times better and there are no constant ads, but everyone seems to love Words with Friends. That said, I don't care much for Angry Birds so maybe I am just different.

Sorry your run was hard!

I think WwF is popular because you can play on various devices (where I haven't been able to find an app to play Wordscraper off FB and I can't play it unless I'm on a computer.) I have WwF on my phone and my kindle, so I play it more often. The ads are annoying for sure though.

As for Angry Birds, it's sort of mindless, and that's what I need right now, so it works.
