My aunt and uncle just returned from their winter hiatus to Arizona (they used to go to Mexico until my Aunt broke her back there last year and had to wait until she got home to have it diagnosed because of the horrible medical system down there). Anyway they came home to Tahoe and my Aunt left to come visit my grandma for a few days. She got worried because she couldnt reach her husband via phone. Finally he called and he was in the hospital with a pulmonary embolism. He started coughing up blood and went in to the Dr and they immediately admitted him. Apparently they think it was deep vein thrombosis from the long drive home. He could easily have died. How friggin scary...

PEs rock my world and not in a good way. A good friend died from one (he was 31 yrs old) and my SIL ended up back in the hospital shortly after giving birth b/c of one. ((((MG's uncle))))

Yah this one has really shaken me for some reason. These are my most active and healthy relatives (although he is far from young I still didnt expect it). Its just so scary that it could really happen to anyone...
