Forget that early bird business, how about a thread for the night owls. What's the latest you're willing to start a workout, and how late before you insist on calling it quits?

For me, 8:15 is about my latest start time, maybe 8:30 in a pinch. By 9:30 I need to be wrapping things up, otherwise I'll never get to sleep.

Finish by 7...no later. I'm more of a morning person.

I have never run or bike late in the evening, but I have swum more than a few times at about 11pm. Yeah, I didn't get home until close to 1am. DH sometimes works late, very late and I patiently wait for him to get home to squeeze my 2nd workout. I have no problem falling asleep 10 minutes after finishing gobbling up whatever in sight.

I have been known to strike out at 2 a.m. much later than that and I'm not getting quality. It is strange and beautiful. Out here in the burbs the lights switch off at 11 p.m. so anytime after that is when I really enjoy.
I am occasionally followed by the cops. Hopefully, they are just making sure I stay safe. It is however weird to be followed by the cops at 2 miles an hour.

Night owls ha! Years of bartending in my youth has permanently changed my clocks

Ah, melistic beat me to it. I'm usually a late kind of person. Definitely not a morning one. So let's see...

Latest workout start? I used to go to the gym at midnight, I think I got there at 1am once.

Latest running start? When training for my first marathon, when I was still working a 9-5 job, it was quite often that I'd get out and run after 11pm, when DW went to sleep. Midnight starts were not unusual. I remember one 15 miler that started at 11:30pm... and the weird thing is that I saw another runner on the street that time.

I used to workout after the kids were in bed, exclusively. Problem is it messes with my sleep schedule and life doesn't agree - easier to get family time at night than the morning. And better to rescue DW from them as well

DS7 wants a smiley as he is learning about them. So here it is:

I have ran as late as 9:00 pm in the summer, when I'm avoiding the heat and was lazy in the early am.

Tonight I'm going to ride my trainer at 8:00 while a show I like is on.

Back In college my friends and I would go out on friday night and bike. We'd start after class ended at 9:00PM and go until we either A. got Tired, or B. saw the sun come up.

I did one long run at night when I was avoiding the heat. I started at 10:00 and ended at 1:00. I think it's pretty spooky to be out running in the country at night, makes you run just that little bit faster though!!

I've been working the midnight shift for 15 yrs so for me 2 am is in the middle of the day. I regularly run at 2 or 3 in the morning. I won't ride outside after dark but I jump on the Computrainer in the middle of the night also. At least when I hit the pool at the gym in the wee hours I never have to share a lane!

6:00 is my cut-off time to begin a run or bike. Otherwise I'll be awake at midnight.
Swimming is da problem for me. The pool closest to my house doesn't have lap swim until 8:30. I'm not making the most of these swims. I'd rather be in my bed.
