Ended March injury free and with 184.4 miles ....highest since I turned 50 eight years ago I also dropped 8 lbs in March...... hoping for another 10 lbs before the party at Palos Verdes in 7 weeks.

This week I'm looking for another 45 slow miles before I start thinking about speed work.

Nettie, I hope you recover enough this week to run a good race.

I ended March with a pulled ITB. I ran a total of 3 miles last week, visited the orthopedist yesterday and am taking it easy this week again. This should be an interesting month. I don't think I'll be getting in any more runs beyond the race mileage, so for me it's just maintaining my fitness at the point and whatever happens, happens.

Sorry to hear that, Jill. Last year I pulled a hamstring right about this time, but still tried to race the half. I lasted until mile 3 then it went again. I limped in from there. So I know how you feel.

While it did set me back a bit, I eventually recovered. So hang in there.

Jill, that sucks!
My March started with minor injuries, but ended up quite well.
April started bad. I'm sick. Wasn't sure in the morning, so I went for a 12mi trail run, but had to cut it short, was feeling like hell, ended up with 4.8mi
Hope it's something minor, can't afford any sickness now. But that was the long training run for the week, I have a 15k race on Sunday which will be the actual long run.

Chris, I just got a really quick flu or something over the weekend. It started Friday with chills and a fever, Saturday was spent deliriously in bed and Sunday I was able to move about starting around noon. Monday was a recovery day and today I feel about 100% normal. How is that for strange? I hope whatever you got passes quickly.

No races for me until the LVHM. These next couple of weeks are my heaviest weeks prior to the half, so I am trying to stick with my schedule without racing. I thought about the Emmaus 4 miler too, but am not doing that one either for the same reasons. I know I could run the race then go out for a few more miles, but I guess I am set in my ways.

6.5 easy miles this morning and another 5 tomorrow before Sunday's 5K. I'm totally not ready for the race........ still increasing my mileage with slow miles and haven't done much in the way of speed work..... I guess it will be more like a tempo run.

Hope everyone is over their illnesses and injuries and can continue their training strong.
Best wishes Nettie.... hope you've recovered enough to race well!

Thanks for the well wishes guys! Got all my workouts in this week, but I seem to have trouble making my easy pace as fast and as easy as it was pre-sickness. Will do my best!

Good luck on the 5K Jim; you may just surprise yourself!

Hey folks, mind if I jump in here with you?

I posted a similar message in the CT runners thread, but I'd like a place to check in on a regular basis, so this seems to fit the bill!

I'm currently training for Boston's Run to Remember HM. My goal is to run sub-2 (current PR is 2:09).

I'm using Runner's World's Intermediate "Ulitmate HM program".

I don't have any other races scheduled, but am looking for some to fit in to my Summer/Fall schedule (weekends fill up quick!)

Thanks!
