After I bruised my knees pretty bad this weekend while skiing, I need a few days of rest from running. Swam today, maybe a bike ride tomorrow...
Jill, you can add another race to my schedule, I just registered:
Apr 12 - North Face Endurance 50 HM (Bear Mt)
This will be my first ever trail race.

I wasn't going to start tempos until next week but ....

6 today in a cold, wind driven rain. I picked up the pace just to get done. Not quite down to tempo pace, but it was definitely quicker than easy, so we'll call it tempo.

8 easy miles this morning.....I'll probably start working in more serious tempo runs next week.

OK! I feel a renewed sense of motivation. I'm going to change my goal race from the Earth Day Half to Grandma's Half, now that I know I'm in. I'm starting an OFFICIAL training plan - Hal Higon's Intermediate Plan. Between the OFFICIAL training plan and the VRAA I have things to hold me accountable. I feel READY!! YAY!

It was a nice evening for a run ..... 8.1 easy miles.

Yeah, there's really nothing intimidating in that section. I've found that I am slowest in the park, and that's because of the softer surface.

One thing to be aware of ... You come out of the park and you're at a little under 11 miles. Those last couple of miles trend uphill, so leave a little in the tank.
