My plan for this week calls for 30 mi, but I'm skipping my Tuesday tempo run because my legs feel really beat up and I want to give them another day to rest. Other than that I'm right on target. HM is 12 weeks away.

M: Rest
T: 4 Tempo
W: 4 Easy
TH: 6 Moderate
Congrats to Jill as well on her 10K over the weekend. Thanks for managing this thread by the way.

I'm a little stiff from the 10K, but really it isn't too bad. I managed a 5.3 mile recovery run yesterday evening. Tuesday is usually an off day, but if it isn't raining when I get home I'll probably go out, since the chance of rain is greater tomorrow.

Now that the 10K is behind me, I plan on spending the next few weeks adding mileage. That will get me over 40 mpw by early March. I'll then throw in some midweek tempo runs.

Good idea. I read somewhere that you should allocate one day per race mile for recovery. Of course it's just a benchmark and some recover faster than others, but I don't think that a week of easy running after a 10K is unreasonable.

Jill......I think 10K races are great prep for HM, but you can go out and push too much and then have to modify your training plan. Always best to rest a little extra than trying to push it.

My race turned out to be a bust......not much more than a tempo run.... it was raining, cold (for So Cal), and windy. Didn't do my 3 mile warm up as planned so I didn't push it as much as I wanted to.

This week.....

M- rest
T - 8.25 easy
Hi MrPH - nope your not the only one. I've done 27 miles so far. Have 12 planned for tomorrow or Sunday, but dreading it because its gonna be sub-zero here (which I could handle, but the winds are supposed to be horrendous). So its gonna have to be on the TM, which will be boring!

I've been running, but doesn't look like I'm going to get my 40 in this week...... bailed out at 5 miles on a 12 mile long run this morning with a bad headache. Looks like this may be a step back week for me.

My planned 14 miler ended up being a 12 today. I don't know if you can hit the wall at only twelve miles, but I felt pretty close. I've been a little sleep deprived lately, so I wonder if I just ran out of steam. I started feeling a little nervous that my time goal for the half is too ambitious.
