Hi. I've lurked here for a bit and finally decided to join. I started running in high school, about 30 years ago. I've run on and off since then depending on my school/ job/ life situation. About 4 years ago I had a serious medical problem that stopped any exercise for about a year. Since becoming healthy again I've discovered triathlons. So far I've only done the sprint and olympic distances. I'm hoping to work up to a half-iron next season. I'm not fast, but I'm stubborn!

I live in the mountains of northern California, in snow country.

Welcome.

You live near the running center of the entire universe (which is Auburn.) Lots of people here travel to your neck of the woods to run in races. There may be a huge demand for your couch, if you ever want to share it.

OK, Hippo. Now you've really scared her off.

Hey there -
Welcome! I'm in CA too, but down closer to the armpit. (Central CA)
However, Sierra and I have met in person, and I will personally vouch for her (which may or may not do her any good )

hup
lol Thanks for all of the great welcomes.

We like guests. The guests just have to like dogs and cats and their hair.
Welcome!
Welcome, RG! Congrats on being healthy enough to run again. If you graduated from HS 30 years ago, you meet the criterion...stop by the Masters group under Running Clubs on this site. You don't even have to know the sekrit handshake.
