Hi everyone

Just wanted to introduce myself. I've lurked at CR before its disastrous death and came over here to see what this forum was like. It's great, and inspired me to come out of lurkitude. (I've already posted in the VRAA, and in the road-to-Boston threads.)

I'm 31F, have a DH and 2 dogs, and I'm in law school. I have been running inconsistently for several years. This year, though, I'm taking control and not letting life/school/etc turn me into a blob .

I hope y'all don't mind if I stay a while.

Provided you're not one of those dog mask wearing, battery throwing, charge the field rabid Browns fan, we'll get along just fine...

I like how you put that - "I've been running inconsistently for years!"

I think in the early 80's some of the players would woof at each other in practice and then in games and it spread like a venereal disease to the fans at the near end zone (Dawg Pound). I guess the fans could never figure out how to dress up for the color brown (particularly with those weird orange helmets?) to show their team spirit. There are wacko Steeler fans too - my motto is "be a fan...not a fanatic"

Welcome, if I can offer a welcome because I'm new too.

I went to Kenyon College, in OH. It seemed like half the student body were Steeler fans and half were Browns fans...and then there was me, a kid from Vermont.

PacerChris- thanks for the explanation on the mascot. I've only been in Ohio for 3 years - so the whole Cleveland sports thing is relatively new to me. (And, boy, are people here fanatic about their football, not that there's anything wrong with that ... )

VictorN- I have a friend in LS who went to Kenyon too. She loved it there. I've never been but it sounds like it's a pretty cool college. I can definitely relate to the outsider in sports country.

Liam, and altoids - thank you very much for the welcome I love this place.
