We're baaaaack!

I smell new paint and varnish. Not like the old locker room at all.

My limp is getting better. Still I stayed in the gym and did whatever lower body exercises I could do that didn't hurt. I may try the elliptical tomorrow. This is week one for a marathon training cycle IF I decide to do Hartford or Mass Bay (Lowell). THe jury is still out on that one.

JJJ - great excuse yesterday for extending your run. It's nice that you now have a visitor's center 2 miles from home. That could come in handy I imagine,

Resting today. No yoga even because it's the harder of my two classes. Made an appt. for next Friday with the running doc to find out if it's the hip flexor or what. By that time it'll probably be better & I can cancel.

Wow, the move to the new platform seems to have worked... unlike another transition I remember.

Reggie and I ran for 35 minutes. My foot is not quite 100%.

Hi IrunMike! By the way, it's July 7, not June 7 ...

The little break I've been taking the past few weeks seems to have done the trick. I'm feeling good, ready to kick up the training for TC, and the paces have been very nice given the H&H season. The HR under control too.

4 easy miles at 9:20 pace. The last 2 at sub-9 with under control HR.

I was hoping to make it to Dallas this weekend and maybe catch up with Spareribs but the plans have changed and I'll be staying home instead.

Purposely took lunch late today to watch the last half of the Germany-Spain World Cup game. Sadly, my team lost 1- nil. And it should have been worse.

John, you definitely don't look right on the right! (cool, a new smiley)

Hey, what's with all these injuries, guys? My hamstring isn't right yet either, so I did another 45 minutes on the stationary bike today. It's my multitasking workout: I pedal and sweat, read a book AND listen to music on my ipod.

This new forum format is not so inviting, methinks. Or maybe it's just me.

Interesting interface! The color scheme seems a little anemic. I wonder if we can individually customize.

I ran 7 miles before work with MrC. What a beautiful morning to run! Calm, cool, and wall-to-wall blue skies. I cannot complain about our running weather these days.

New home looks nice so far!

I went out at 7:00am for a run and saw my neighbor on the way back from a run ( I think - she was walking when I saw her) and she told me not to bother, to just stay home. Heck, the hill I have to get up to get off of my street is pretty big - for me - and I was already 3/4 up it - no way I was turning around because it was warm out. But I did modify my normal hard run Wed. I was going to try running hard efforts by minutes. One of my friend's brother I see every 4th of July is a running coach and he said to try running 2 min hard, 2 min easy, 4 min hard, 2 min easy working up to 12 min. hard. Well, for the first time, I was just going to do 4 (2, 4, 6 & 8 minutes hard), but then scaled back further since it was already just about 80 out. I "warmed up" 1 mile and then just did 2, 3, 4 & 5 minutes hard with 2 min. between and then just finished off the rest of the miles home slowly for a total of 6 miles. Nice to be able to do this workout with my watch and not need a garmin for distance.

Now what do SS and MB use for minutes? " or ' I always get confused since they always look like feet and inches.

I'm with choovie.....I hope I can get the old interface back, although I spose after a while this will just seem natural.

Yeah.....tomwhite, me too, but I was waiting for someone else to say it first. I already have a reputation as a grump. don't want to perpetuate it too much

Hmmmmmm........ seems they need to hire a decorator around this joint!

Here I go out for the earliest run I've ever done, just to beat the heat, and I have to wait all day before I can post it. Hmph!

Guess I'll get used to it.

6.75 miles at 5:30 am. Ankles not particularly happy, but with the orthotics better than before. 23°C when I was done, 30 °C by the time I got to work, 37° by the time I left for home. It's not the heat, it's the "stew-midity"!!!!

Good news on two fronts! Mammogram issue turned out to be an artifact from the compression and nothing to worry about (yay!!)..... and the boss called to tell me that they'd upgraded our job levels to match the rest of the international team, and with that came a 5% increase. Sweet!!!! Now I guess I should go buy a lottery ticket!
