I'll be happening upon your facility at an undisclosed time in the near future. I desire some riveting walkabout suggestions to make my pansy-ass sea level lungs burst. Any other general touristy suggestions that i can make use of in a 2 day timeframe would be divine too.

Best advice I can give you for Denver in the summer is get out of town, up into the mountains.

Are you going to have a car? If so make the drive out to Nederland, get coffee in the converted railcar coffee shop. Then go north out to Estes Park for lunch. Then up into Rocky Mountain National Park. Go for a walk or trail run if you like.

If you don't want to wander that far, park your car near the college in Boulder and walk out along Boulder Creek. Maybe go for a swim with the college kids. Pearl Street in the evening is nice for street entertainment.

One thing I highly recommend is a trip down to the 16th street mall in downtown Denver for one of Biker Jim's Gourmet Hot Dogs. These are no ordinary dogs. Jim is going to be featured on Anthony Bourdain's show. (In fact I just looked and the episode is going to be on July 12th.) He's usually there between 10 and 4.

Tell him Steve in Afghanistan sent you.

This time of year the road to the top of Mt. Evans should be open. You can drive all the way to the top.

If you just want local walks and runs, I'd suggest Boulder Reservouir, Eldorado Canyon and the lake out by Evergreen. There's a massive amount of trails near Evergreen and just a bit up Boulder Canyon.

I'd show you some myself, but I'm out of town.

yes, CARCARCAR! I'll be in Wyoming for a couple days taking care of my business up there, then I'm heading back to Boulder on tuesday, and will be there through wednesday night when I'm taking the redeye back eastward. I figured I'd go for a stroll by Pearl Street and the college area on tuesday, maybe head out along the legendary Magnolia Drive on wednesday and go for a walk/hike up in that area. I'll be moving 3 1/2 hours north of there in 3 weeks, so i'll have time to get back to it anyway ;)
