So....

I'm really struggling lately with getting my lazy ass out of bed in the mornings on time to get my runs in before work and other stuff. This, despite 2 alarm clocks and one alarm phone. (*sigh*).

Anyone up for a some assistance in the form of "open your eyes, put your feet on the floor and get moving" calls/texts?

I know that once I get back on track, I'll be fine....but getting off of holiday sleep/wake schedule and on to super early sleep/wake schedule again seems to be harder this year.

Sign up for another Ironman. It will give you a little motivation to get up and get those feet on the floor.

I agree that a race on the calendar is a great motivator to get up but that doesn't have to be an Iron Man! LOL

I've got a race on the books....but it's WAY out there.

MCM: October. Must be base building for sure right now.

I've got the Bay Swim in June, closer, but not running.

Maybe I do need to find a late spring "something" to do.

GA Half marathon is too close...I think.

And, yes....

getting out of bed is half the battle.

I've even started keeping the house a degree or two warmer at night in the hopes that if it's warmer in the morning, it won't be so painful to get up.

Stitch - what time in the AM? I'm up early 5 days a week...

Oh and as of right now I'm planning on limping through the half in March - we can limp together!

since college I have always placed my alarm AWAY from my bed. I HAVE to get my ass out of bed for fear of waking the wife (BAD) or kids (BAD) so it's pure fear that drives me up and out!

Anyway, since kids are kind of a pain, and I don't think you'd be into getting a wife... (although if so, please send pics!)

So maybe just move the alarm?

AND have Em call you and harass you?

Moving the alarm.....good idea.

Having Em harrass me..... also a good idea.

Stitch - I have to open the gym I run at 5am most mornings. That means up at 4am. Moving your alarm across the room is very helpful...providing the alarm wakes you up in the first place!

Good luck!

Yeah...pac time won't help much. lol

Luckily, one alarm is battery operated, so no need to worry about power cords.

Will be moving it tonight.

Got up ok today, thinking it was Monday, and was ** this close to getting in the shower at 6:30 only to realize it was Sunday, not Monday.
