Here is the nutritional information for Smart Balance popcorn:

I think I had the low fat popcorn.

I popped and ate an entire bag. Would the nutritional information for me be the "packaged" column, or do I need to multiply the "1 cup popped" by 4? The numbers don't seem to add up.

My guess: packaged.

You're right, its confusing. Look at the serving size (popped), and the servings per bag and you should get your answer.

But you're right. The numbers don't add up.

Popped I believe...

Some of the butter stays in the bag, altering the nutrition information somewhat...

But if you ate the whole bag, you have to multiply the info by 15...

(1 cup popped.... then a serving size is listed as 5 cup popped... So multiply by 5.... then 3 servings per bag, so multiply by 3.)

300 Calories (You save about 60 Calories by some of the fatty oil/butters not leaving the popcorn bag)

You said you popped it, so use "1 cup popped" and multipy by 3 - there are 3 servings in the bag & you ate the whole bag.

NO! 1 cup popped is the nutrition info given... but look at serving size. serving = 5 cups popped. So multiply by 5.
And then multiply by 3 (servings in a bag) because the whole bag was eaten.

I think it is a bad label.

It should show the information per serving size. I thought that was the legal standard?

Not that it would have stopped me from eating the whole bag!

Within legal standards.
It gives you the information per serving size... It gives you ADDITIONAL information, too.... food isn't required to gived "prepared" information.
