<p>I know for many (most?) it's important to keep their motivation up, but as I said I play golf, so just as "par" is an ever-present opponent in golf, a time or a distance may be an ever-present opponent to me in running.</p>

<p>I'll probably run some races just for the social aspect (and hey, who can resist the t-shirts, I guess?!?!) but I don't have one in mind. I started too late to do the Turkey Trot, after all.
