Just thought I would pop into the 30's club and see if there are any of my old friends here. I'm using the term "old friends" loosely, as (without trying to hurt anyone), most of the folk I knew when I was an honarary member of teh 30's club, are probably "over the limit" now themselves. Personally, having just hit my 53rd burpday this week, I can't make any claims to the number 30 (or even 40), and will be limiting my posts to the OAP's forum, as I restart my running life once again. Only difference is, this time I more or less have to.

I won't take up your reading time with the full details of my latest ailments, but if you want to check out my old (re-vamped) blog, it explains a few things, and I will be charting my course to regain a level of fitness I can be happy with.

Just wanted to drop by and say hi to old (and new friends), and look forward to sharing my running again.

Hey - I know you guys :) - Some things never change...... hi Mo, Clare, Big K....

Just to confirm my ageing status - In June of this year, my "little girl", Melanie, will deliver my first little grand-daughter.... Then I officially become "old".... Don't think grand-parents can be honarary members of the 30's gang.... But I do look forward to seeing what you guys are all up to.....

Hi, Liam!

Hey, someone told me once upon a time that St Patrick's Day isn't really a big deal over in Ireland. Just like Cinqo de Maio isn't a big deal in Mexico. Basically, they're both "holidays" created by American beer companies. Is that true?

Bob - St Patricks Day is a BIG Day in Ireland, but NOT as a festival of Drinking. It's a National Holiday as St Patrick is our Patron Saint. Its a relious holiday, and there is a parade, but nothing like the sh!te that goes on in the States, or even here in Buenos Aires, where it's an excuse for Plastic Paddies, most of whom would be hard pressed to point out Ireland on a map, head into town, wear green, and get as drunk as they can. so, yes, you are spot on, another great marketing drive by Big Corporations to Sell something, this time, booze...

As to everyone else, great to hear so many still around and running.

OK - I promise not be a stranger, but can I really claim a 30's moniker - Not that I care about age - I reckon I still look under 40 (at least in the Dark anyway!) :)
