Good Day All,

I have a question on heart health and those of you that are running now. Friday evening I received some disturburbing news from my doctor. First a little background.

I've been running, for myself, about 11 years. I say for myself as prior to that I was in the military and my PT was more our less imposed upon me. At any rate my running progressed to the point that I've completed two marathons and several half-maries, along with all the 5K and 10ks I can work in. Some here may remember that in January of 2005 I suffered a TIA and was in the hospital for 4 days. Since that time I've been keeping regular appointments with my doctors. It was determined during the tests that I had a leaky mitral valve (mild).

An ECHO was performed during my last visit to the cardiologist and the leak in the mitral valve has moved in to the mild to moderate range. Ok, I understand that this is something I am going to have to pay close attention too. But what bother's me is the two new findings. I now have developed leaks in both the tricuspid and pulmonary valves, both mild. That's three out of four. This is really worrying me now.

I guess my question is this "Is there anyone out there that has similar problems? If so what was done?" I understand this may not be information you may not want to share with the world so please fill free to PM and maybe we could exchange emails.

I'll be seeing my doctor today to discuss what is going on.

Thanks for your time. It was most appreciated.

Happy Trails,
Rob
