If you all prefer, we can also just have one long thread rather than a new one each week. Just let me know.

Today's weigh in: 107

Starting weight: 108.6

Total lost: 1.6

I was surprised. I wonder if it it'll sneak back up a bit over the week. I was good last week, but not 4500 calories good.

I tend to start each week really well, and then slowly start to let things slide by the end of the week. I'm keeping the goals of no eating after dinner and minimal liquid calories. I'm also adding no swiping the kids' halloween candy.

Whoops, I didn't see this before I posted my long story in the other thread.

Lbs lost 4.6 Yippe skippee, doing a Snoopy dance, (see other thread for detail story as to what is at risk to happen next if you guys don't keep me accountable. ;)

Same goals as last week. Meal plan, journal, water, find some way to exercise.

Hey Jebba, bet your 1.6 loss will stay!!! I am seriously thinking of doing the weigh only once a week thing, but I really do need to step on that scale every day. Not more than once a day, but I sure like that morning "yippee" or "crap that white flour pasta kills me every time" moment.

That's great! Wish I would have that number this week. But, I'm guessing not.

I haven't weighed in yet..may not do it weekly- it doesn't change much .. yet ! But I do feel way better - stronger and more able to do stuff at boot camp. Also asthma problems have subsided (related to what I am not sure but will take that any time ,, I have been messing with it for months now!) and joints feel pretty good..

I am aiming at breakfast and lunch again this week - keeping it healthy, eliminating the bread and simple carbs and bringing in more veggies. Hard to do at school where I eat on the run or on duty but I am bringing smaller portions and breaking it into 2 - part at school at 12:30 and part at home at 2:50 or so.

 Keep at it !

I find eating at school really difficult too. I have found I NEED to eat at 10:30, but I can usually deal without the afternoon snack, but I better have something ready for when I get home at 4:00 because I will be HUNGRY.

Yesterday was not the greatest. Went to brunch after church, and didn't make the best choices. I also had a headache, so only ran one mile. Today will be better. Mr jebba has been working hard at making healthy dinners. Last night was homemade whole wheat pizza and carrot soup.

Will run, fantastic job on the weight loss! As far as exercise without a gym, I know hulu has some exercise shows that stream free. Some are really bad, so you have to search. Also, if you had something you could use as a step, you could do step repeats while reading or watching t.v.

OK...this week

Today - 201
Last Week - 204
Loss - 3
Goal - 160 (or so)

The scale said 201. Then a little later, it said 202. I'm sticking with the 201.

I had a difficult week. Frustrations, stress etc. Plus, I had hoped to lose more, because I thought last week's number was due to a lot of extra "crap" in my system. I know, I know. 3 pounds is good.

But I've decided to take 3 full days off from the gym, and that "scares" me a bit.

I did the brace yesterday, and it was a little unpleasant.

First off, I know from before, it slides down a lot. This isn't normally an issue when I'm running or walking outside, I can just stop and pull it up. But, on a treadmilly, that's a little more problematic. So, I put it on really tight. And that was mega uncomfortable, and really restricted my knee bending. it would have been really bad if I had been running.

I only did 2 miles, and it didn't feel good (although it was better closer to the end than at the beginning). Knee didn't feel good at all.

However, it feels a lot better today than it has in a while. Maybe because of the brace, maybe not. It might just need more time.

So, I figure I just have to bite the bullet and stop the power walking for 3 days. Not even sure about the bike. I guess I can lift, as long as it's all above the waist.

Jebba, it's a new week. Forget yesterday and move forward. Tech Tee, sorry about the knee, but way to go with the 3 lbs!!!.

I may have found a way to use my Kinect in my apartment without making too much noise for the people downstairs. I discovered that if you raise your hands high and go on your tip toes, the machine thinks that you jumped, so I plan on doing 45 minutes of Kinect every night, it will get my heart rate elevated for sure until the ice is gone and I can run again. Lets face it, running with 10 lbs less will be much easier than trying to run right now anyway. I figure if I try to get Platinum on all the levels of one game that should keep me busy until the snow melts. Well ice, we still haven't got any substantial amount of snow, but it HAS to come sooner or later and I figure when it comes we are going to get 2 feet in one drop.

Tech Tee - I am sorry to hear that your knee is bothering you. Hang in there. Do you have a custom made brace or is an over the counter type? I have one of both i use for when I climb/hike on occasion.. and they are definitely annoying - yet I need them so - we do what we must eh? Hope you can get it to work for you.

I am posting pretty late ..but my confession is that I fall apart at night and eat way to many snackie things ! Agh. Why do I do this? I eat pretty well all day but then after 7 or so when dinner is done and there's time to stop for a while and relax.. But then I KNOW I feel bored - TV is stupid and I don't have the energy to start a big project and I end up eating 2 or 3 snacks with my tea. .... Agh I can be my own worst enemy !

SO for this week that is my focus.. to make a choice for something more filling at dinner and end the need to eat by 7 each night. To keep me honest- I'll check in here each night!

Still on track for calories. Oddly enough I drove by a Dairy Queen and didn't even WANT to stop. Seems that when my body is fueled by the right stuff, it wants the right stuff.

The brace is really called a patella stabilizer. This is it

http://www.hely-weber.com/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&catid=7%3Apatella-stabilizers&id=96%3Ashields-brace-5674&Itemid=14

It's not something you buy over the counter, but it's not prescription either. I mean, I got it from an orthopedist, and it was paid for by insurance.

I find this to be true. However, sometimes the wheels fall off.

That happens to me! The only benefit to weighing every day and seeing the arbitrary gains is that it sometimes scares me enough to be super careful.

Willrun, you are inspiring.

RAinNH: yes! I have a terrible time with snacking after dinner.

I think part of my issue is that I am already at a reasonably healthy weight. The rest is aesthetics and running performance. So when I want to cheat, I hear this voice in my head that says, "You're already healthy, so why push so hard?" And I am reluctant to mention my goals to my friends and coworkers, because I'm paranoid they'll think I am a fanatic, or that my priorities are out of whack.

We live in such a weird society where emphasize health in our discourse and yet undermine it in our cultural practices.

Tech Tee, That 2 lbs is going to melt off of you in the next week....and then some!

Jebba, I`m not inspiring yet, I have to stick with this for more than 3 weeks. All my Spark streaks are around 25 days.

Still on track for Calories and Water, taking a rest for Kinect today. At this point I am not working tomorrow afternoon, so I might go for a walk.

I have been kicking butt in the exercise department. Fairly decent in the eating department, but could clean it up a bit more. Not so good on the no liquid calories front. I'm used to glass of wine (or two) in the evenings. I need to find an alternate way to unwind.
