These look like rather handy gadgets to have around.
I soooo wish I could find an ART or Graston person closer than 100 miles to me.

It sounds like that good sort of pain that makes things better in the end.

Shoulders and feet....
I use that site for reference all the time and it has really helped me get to the bottom of my maladies. I have not bought any of the gadgets because I think they are overpriced and I can accomplish the same stuff with a foam roller and a Sof-T baseball.

I have always used foam rollers and balls of various sizes...but I just recently purchased the full TP package (ball, foot baller, quad roller, block, and DVD)...and wow. I have to say that the foot baller and quad roller are amazing...and much more intense than I would have expected. I've noticed a difference already...but it's still early. Will keep fingers crossed it can provide the results I need.

I like the frozen water bottle idea!

I use a tennis ball, or occasionally a baseball. They accomplish the same thing at a lot less cost. I only need to keep the balls away from the dog.

I've looked at this also - I have been seeing an A.R.T guy for the last couple of months for my shins/calves, and although I think it's been very effective, I would like something at home to work on that and all the other tight spots I get from training. I have a stick and that helps somewhat, but I have a hard time trying to use it on my shoulders!
