I'm curious to see if anyone has any thoughts about this race. We are taking a family trip to FL and I'm thinking about doing this marathon. This will be my second marathon (my first was Vermont City in May) and I live in Maine. I'm concerned that running in south Florida will be a big shock to my system after training in a New England winter.

Thanks!

Saw this was posted a little while ago... I'm going to run Miami this year and am concerned about the heat as well. I'm from philly, which does typically get super cool but isn't anything like Miane either. As aweful as it sounds, I was thinking about doing some longer runs on the treadmill in my gym. I typically run outside all winter but am hoping a few 15+ miles in the heat of the gym will be good for my Miami Prep.

Has any run Miami before? It seems to have gotten mixed reviews on marathonguide.com

Sisu- GO FOR IT!!!!! I was actually thinking about doing that half. Yes the heat can be hard, but in Jan. it SHOULD not be too bad... but then I run in FL everyday I'd die trying to run in the snow. Here it could be hot or cold... it's hard to tell before hand.

ETA: I have not run it before, so I can't tell you anything about the actual race, except that the course look beautiful.
