<p>Dealt with craigslist to get a pet?</p>

<p>Out of about 4 people I emailed two were disingenuous.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>One offered a little terrier.  When I emailed, he said he was</p>
<p>at some port in Nigeria and would gladly ship him to me</p>
<p>for the small amount of $1900.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>The other offered a year-old Labradoodle.  I was prepared to</p>
<p>pay the "rehoming" fee.  When I emailed, I was told that one</p>
<p>was gone but she had several 6 month old Labradoodles for the</p>
<p>low fee of $600.</p>
<p> </p>
<p>I see a lot of dogs 6+ years old that families just can't take care of anymore.</p>
<p>Whether it's financial or the dog is sick or whatever, it is really sad.</p>

<p>I'm tired of dogs being labeled Lab/Boxer/Etc when they are clearly</p>
<p>100% pit. (Or at least 98%)  Our lease doesn't allow Rotties or Pits.</p>

<p>Maybe there are some local rescue groups near you? I guess I would start with googling for ideas on that. It'd never occur to me to try craigslist for pets. But, then, I'm a bit of a Luddite.</p>
